Official merchandise for ‘Bluey’ describes Bluey as female in all descriptions and also refers to her as Bingo’s older sister in several of the descriptions. I have personally checked descriptions on toy packaging, board book descriptions and official streaming service descriptions and they all agree that Bluey is female. Occasionally a small retailer may have incorrectly described Bluey in some of their listings but licensed products and official show materials always correctly describe her.
I really appreciate how the character of Bluey is represented across the official merchandise in terms of her character in the stories. It makes sense and is clear and fun for children to engage with and saves a lot of confusion. I also find this makes sense when choosing items for my nieces and nephews and kids of friends as I know how I would refer to her.

However, we see that in merchandise listings, press kits and even in the credits of episodes, ‘Bluey’ is clearly identified as a female dog. So when they market toys and books featuring the main character, they clearly state that ‘Bluey goes on adventures with her family’ or ‘Bingo is Bluey’s sister’. It’s very obvious. International versions of these descriptions are translated into female forms (e.g. Spanish and French). So the character’s identity is clearly transferred from language to merchandise.
Another thing I have noticed is that although Bluey is a girl, the character and the activities she is involved in are not stereotypically feminine. Therefore, the merchandise associated with the show does not fall into the typical pink-girl toy category. Rather, the products are of a comfortable and playful nature, and most of the items can be enjoyed by kids of all ages and genders. It is fun to see how each brand interprets Bluey’s carefree spirit when creating products to collect and give as gifts.

Product descriptions for products sold by retailers and licensed by the publishers of Bluey tend to portray the character as female. So publisher blurbs for books will typically refer to ‘a story about a daughter and her family’ and toys will be packaged with reference to the ‘daughter in a family of Heelers’ and the writer will use female pronouns when referring to her adventures in story. Context within publisher blurbs for books and packaging for plush toys also clearly establishes that the character referred to is the daughter in a family of Heelers, her mum and dad.
Many official Bluey items that I have bought and also other products are worded differently in other regions. For example, in some editions of books there are translated pronouns, or even short rewritten sentences. However the core character description remains consistent. It is reassuring to see that the people creating the mass-market product and the people licensing the character are working from the same basic character description. This makes my shopping experience more pleasant and also gives me confidence when recommending items to others.

This character is a girl. I’ve got her books on the shelf and a bunch of her plush toys and mass-produced toys for her in the storage room. Official descriptions for products and broadcast etc… all refer to ‘her’ as she/her, the young Blue Heeler daughter in the bluey family.
The official Bluey website describes Bluey's family consisting of Bluey and Bingo (her little sister) and Bandit and Chilli (her parents). Stores and casual fans can sometimes get confused with Bluey's short and playful name, but on the majority of Bluey merchandise in stores and in production the source material has been accurately reflected. I think this is wonderful that a spirited girl lead character has been created for television and her clarity has been continued through to the merchandise. This makes my job so much easier when purchasing gifts.

Nova Creed is running for her life from a marriage alliance to an Alpha twice her age, one with more enemies than morals. And when her twin brother Leo is deemed missing under suspicious circumstances, Nova does the unthinkable. She cuts her hair, steals his identity, and enrolls in the brutal academy where he was last seen. She claims she can feel the fact that her brother is dead. Everyone at home believes she’s making things up.
Nova knows better.
She’s here for answers. Revenge. Closure.
But what she didn’t plan for was him. Rhydar Kane.
Leo’s former best friend. His coldest rival. His possible killer.
And now… her roommate.
Rhydar’s wolf is restless and aggressive, drawn to “Leo” in ways that make no sense.
But then, the bond kicks in and the truth starts coming to light.
Nova Creed shouldn’t be here.
Not at the Alpha Academy.
Not in Dorm 314.
And definitely not in Rhydar Kane’s bed.
“She is a murderer!” Alpha Dan roared. “That bitch murdered my son!”
I kept my eyes on the ground. It was safer that way. The entire hall felt like it was closing in on me, heavy with judgment.
“Only fools resort to such unruly grammar.”
The voice was calm. Controlled. Deadly ,for a moment no one said anything
“What did you just say to me?” Alpha Dan demanded.
“I dare you to lay a finger on her,” He replied. “You called me here for a truce. I can start a war just as easily. Besides, fools are highly flammable.”
Before I knew it polished shoes stopped in front of me
he came down to my level.
Warm fingers slid under my chin and lifted my face. My breath caught. His touch was gentle, but my skin burned where he held me. When I met his eyes, the world narrowed to just us.
“She’s from your pack?” he asked softly before tilting his head like he was making a decision
“Then I’m changing the papers. The name will read Violet Throne.”
My heart stumbled.
“And most importantly,” he said, his thumb brushing my jaw, “she’s mine.”

The last thing Voilet expected at the mating ball was to be accused of murder.
Now she’s on the run.
To survive, she abandons her identity and lives as a man. She never planned to become a bodyguard and she certainly never planned to work for the most ruthless Alpha in the territories.
But the most dangerous part?
He looks at her like she’s the answer to everything he’s ever wanted.
If you are going to be BAD, then you have to do it the BAD way...
It's pretty simple:
1) Don't get caught
2) Always have a Plan B
3) If all else fails... Run...Run for your life!
Everyone has a bad side. Some try to deny it's existence, some hide it and others well...they rule the world with it.
In the book of being BAD, there are ninety-nine formulas for world domination...
Number one: You aren't BAD until you can walk around the school dressed in all pink and have everyone afraid to approach you.
Number two: You aren't BAD until you can break into a certain bad boys house and well... do the wrong kinds of stuff.
Number three: You aren't bad until quite
frankly, you have declared vengeance against the bad boy.

"I heard you like bad boys," Blade says with a vivid smirk on his face.
I glared up at him, without responding clenching my fists fighting the urge to punch him in the face.
"So...?" He says after a couple of seconds of silence.
"So what?"
"So what do you think...Tinker Bell?" He says emphasizing on the stupid name.
His face moved closer to mine and I stared back into his green eyes, watching the fire inside ignite.
I smirked, "Then find me one."
Blade grins at my witty retort and shrugs it off.
"I look at you and I see cotton candy, but then you open your mouth... and suddenly you turn into liquorice," he scoffs.
"Welcome to the game bitch, your move, now let's play."
