The Dragon Thief

The Dragon Thief

The dragons and royals are at war. Dragons have power and the royals want it to cement their rule in their kingdoms. Rather than creating a bond between the two, the royals have been stealing dragon eggs, hoping they will bond with the dragon once it hatches, allowing the royal to become a dragon rider. However, there is a thief among them, someone who is stealing the dragon eggs and returning them to the dragons. Someone who, when found, will be put to death. Princess Skylar is the daughter of King Augustus. Her father has been hunting dragon eggs for years. Unbeknownst to him, Skylar is the thief that he is searching for. She does not agree with stealing dragon eggs from the mothers who make their nests away from the other dragons, making themselves vulnerable to attack. Her betrothed, Prince Kenneth, also supports stealing dragon eggs in the hope of bonding with a dragon and making his kingdom stronger. Ryuki is a dragon rider. He bonded with his dragon, Bynjym, a year ago when he stumbled across him in the wild. The bond between dragon and rider is sacred. Ryuki and other dragon riders believe that it should never be forced. The riders fight against the royals who steal dragon eggs, working to keep them from being able to access the eggs, or fighting to get the eggs back to their dragon mothers. What will happen when Ryuki realizes that Skylar is a royal like no other? Can Skylar keep her secret from her father, continuing to work inside the palace to take the stolen eggs back to their mothers? What will happen when Skylar realizes that her feelings for Ryuki are much stronger than her feelings for Prince Kenneth? Find out in The Dragon Thief.

I stuttered, inching backward from his penetrating gaze, glancing around for a way out. "I don't know who you're, but I do know you're not here willingly. Seeing as you're chained and all." Silence. "How about I set you free, and in return, you get us out of here?" Silence. Maybe he couldn't talk, so I did the only thing I could. Grabbing the keys, I fumbled with the heavy chains of his cage. His gaze finally shifted to the wooden box I dropped on the floor. "Fancy, isn't it?" I said. "I've never seen anything like it before. But then again, I'm not familiar with expensive stuff." A deep rumble rattled from his throat, freezing me in place. I glanced up at him wearily. "Run." And then he was charging towards me. ___ Tropes: Enemies to lovers. Hidden identity. Reverse harem. Betrayal. Revenge. Arranged marriage. Contract. Escape with pregnancy. Forced proximity. ___

how to survive as a terminally-ill dragon novel

6 Answers2025-08-01
A couple of suggestions for anyone looking to dive into this story: The magic system, and how the dragon’s powers interact with his illness, is incredibly well done. What starts out as what appears to be a simple “find the healing spring” type of quest actually is a much deeper and very creative story. The dragon’s illness warps around his draconic mana, and in turn his mana warps around his illness in rather interesting ways. So what might seem to be a simple spell to heal another character in the story would likely put the dragon in great risk of life and limb. Because of his illness the dragon has to use his human intellect to find very creative ways to apply the magic that is so freely available in this world. The survival tactics that the dragon uses are very deeply integrated into the story and the world that it takes place in. It’s very very satisfying.

Where can I read free dragon romance novels online?

9 Answers2025-08-16
For me, finding free books is half the fun. I follow various hashtags such as #DragonRomance and #FreeBook on Twitter (or X as it’s now called), and in addition to many indie authors posting information about their e-books on their own websites, there are often free download days on Amazon e-books. All of these e-books are fully complete and have been edited professionally – even if they are only free for a limited time. BookBub is another service that can inform you of various free e-books, and I have alerts set up for ‘Fantasy Romance’ and ‘Free’ deals. With great patience, I have been able to build up a large digital library of dragon shifter e-books.

What are some books similar to The Dragon King's Bride?

I’ve seen tons of people online wax poetic about how much they love fanfiction for really popular fantasy novels, and honestly I can see why. For one, the A Song of Ice and Fire (Game of Thrones) fandom is HUGEnormous, and so there are thousands of stories about Daenerys and Jon Snow, as well as all sorts of original character/dragon rider pairings. But most particularly, within that huge and dedicated fanbase, there are also tons of really passionately-written novel-length fics that follow the many, many characters in the series through all sorts of scenarios, not least of which is the huge pool of political marriage tropes. I went to Archive of Our Own and searched for the tag “Arranged Marriage” within the A Song of Ice and Fire category, and oh. My. God. There are some seriously, seriously well-written novels there. These writers are operating completely within the parameters of the existing story, and thus are able to be totally immersed in the world and its politics, to craft scenarios that feel completely natural to the characters and the universe in which they reside. And the best part? It’s free. You can read them for yourself, and can see for yourself the incredible amounts of passion and love that the writers have put into these stories.

Where can I read 'Weakest Beast Tamer Gets All SSS Dragons' legally?

It's also worth noting the economic model of such a story. It's clearly designed to be as engaging and addictive as possible, in order to encourage microtransactions on a freemium app. As such, I would not be surprised if this story was available on platforms such as Webnovel or MoboReader, where it could be read by people who are able to pay for addictive, power-fantasy, day-by-day, installment-by-install content. Your legal read would likely be behind a coin or ticket system on such a platform - for example, you might be able to read the first few chapters for free, and then have to pay per chapter or sign up for a subscription to read more. (It's not the best model for readers, but it's the model that's currently dominant for this sort of content). I'd try downloading the big webnovel apps and searching for the story within them.

Can I read Taken by the T-Rex online for free?

11 Answers2026-03-13
It’s likely a no, but why would that be? Is it because you don’t value romance? Because you don’t value niche fiction? Because you don’t value trope-driven fiction of any sort? I’d tell people that if they were looking to get a free copy of the latest big fantasy novel, that they should go to the library to check it out or wait for it to go on sale. I wouldn’t look for a pirated copy of such a novel.

The real answer to your question is probably that we have an unconscious bias when it comes to books outside of the literary mainstream. We assume they aren’t worth our hard earned cash. But the author put in just as much work for that story as the author of the big, “important” novel. It wasn’t a trivial endeavor to plot out that silly premise, to write it all out, to edit it all, to market it. Cultural gatekeeping is unfortunately a real thing and it’s something that we should all strive to avoid as best we can. The most culturally aware thing you could do is to read it through the same channels that you would any book: purchase it, borrow it from a library, subscribe to the author’s online presence.

What happens at the end of The Ballad of Falling Dragons?

12 Answers2026-02-15
The ending of The Golem and the Jinni is comparable to the ending of another fantastic work of literature, The Last Unicorn, or even The Dark Tower series. All of these works are marked by a sense of cyclical completion, with ambiguous transformation at their core. If you’re a fan of those works, you’ll probably appreciate this one too. But if you detest those works, then you’ll probably detest this one as well. Not every ending is for every reader, after all. This one demands a lot from its readers: they have to be willing to fill in blanks, to sit with uncertainty, and to appreciate a work largely through mood rather than by resolution of plot points. In short, this ending is a litmus test of your reading preferences.

How does Dragons of Autumn Twilight end?

6 Answers2025-12-30
I love the small emotional moments of closure here. Flint's grumpy pride, Tanis' relief that Laurana was his choice, Caramon's worry for Raistlin. Really, this is less a story of saving the world than of saving each other. And they do end up being more tightly knit than ever at the end of this book. I worry for them in the coming “Dragons of Winter Night”.

Where can I read Keeper of Lost Children online for free?

7 Answers2026-04-27
So long ago, I believe this was a huge deal on Tumblr, and the art/sCOPE worked so well for it that people were likely trying to find free reads of it. If it was originally written in another language, you could look for fan translations of it, and if the author still has an active personal blog or Patreon, you could check to see if they have posted up any of their early drafts for their supporters and it gets left up.

Who are the main characters in Manhua Shut Up Evil Dragon?

10 Answers2026-06-07
Their dialogue is the strongest part of their characterization. Jiang Zhe and the dragon are so like a married couple (and also walking disaster) – their back-and-forth is both hilarious and poignant. Initially, Su Xue speaks in formal, dutiful tones but you can slowly sense dry humor and growing vulnerability beneath. It’s all revealed through their natural conversation as opposed to info dumping. The author does a great job of constructing distinct voices that clash wonderfully.

What is the plot of Daddy's Punishment novel?

7 Answers2026-05-04
This discussion of the plot is more interesting than the actual plot. Us, analyzing a story from a literary perspective, a psychological perspective, and even a cultural perspective. And the text itself is most likely to be pretty average, following a very standard structure. But why does this fantasy work so well for this author and for readers to the extent that there are thousands of chapters and hundreds of thousands of comments?
