Honestly, the lack of a sequel is a bit of a relief. The story had a solid ending that didn't feel stretched out, which is rare for progression fantasies. They always seem to run until they collapse under their own power scaling.

I'd rather have one complete, decently-paced narrative than a never-ending series that loses the plot. The author made their point about a broken item breaking the game, explored the consequences, and called it. Trying to force a sequel would probably mean inventing a bigger threat that nullifies the first item's power, which always feels cheap. It's better as a standalone. If you're craving more, the litRPG genre is packed with similar 'overpowered protagonist' stories to dive into next.

It seems like you might be talking about 'I Found a Mythic Item' by that one author on Royal Road. I don't think there's a direct sequel, but the story is part of an ongoing litRPG series universe. The original story is pretty lengthy and seems to wrap up the main character's initial arc with that overpowered item.

What happens is other stories set in the same world pop up, sometimes following different characters or exploring other dungeons. It's more of a shared setting than a direct continuation. I remember the author had notes about a planned spin-off focusing on a support class character, but I'm not sure if it ever got written. For a true sequel, you'd probably have to check the author's Patreon or website for any announcements; the main site just has the one complete story.

The ending did leave room for more, with the guild expanding and new threats mentioned, but nothing concrete has followed on the public sites I use.

I was actually just looking this up yesterday! No sequel series, just the one long web novel. It's a complete story, though. The author moved on to a different fantasy project after finishing it.

Sometimes these web serials get picked up for Kindle Unlimited and are re-edited into 'books,' but that hasn't happened with this one yet as far as I can tell. You could try searching the author's name to see if they've written anything else in a similar vein—sometimes the style is similar even if the world isn't. But for more of that specific character and item, you're out of luck. It's a shame because the system mechanics were fun.

Not a series, no. Just the single story. It's a complete web novel, so you can read the whole thing start to finish. I checked the author's page and forums; there's no announced sequel. The story's done.
