From everything I've seen and felt watching the first season and how similar sequels handle source material, my gut says the anime will stick to the manga’s core storyline and major beats — but not in a strictly frame-by-frame way. Studios usually respect Nakaba Suzuki’s big moments (the reveals, the character turns, the key battles) because those are what make the story resonate with fans, but they often tweak pacing, reorder small scenes, or add short anime-original moments to help the show breathe on screen. That means the spine of the narrative should feel faithful while the limbs might be reshaped a bit to fit episode length, animation budgets, and broadcast rhythms.

If you look at other adaptations, there’s a useful pattern: when a manga has a clear and beloved arc, the anime tends to preserve the emotional and plot milestones while polishing or expanding transitional scenes. Sometimes that’s glorious — extra character interactions that make relationships richer — and sometimes it’s frustrating when a fight gets smoothed over for time. I expect season 2 to give the big set pieces their due, possibly stretching or compressing sequences so the season hits satisfying cliffhangers at the right moments. The creative team will likely use a mix of faithful panels and cinematic embellishments: think longer reaction shots, added dialogue to clarify stakes, and maybe a couple of original scenes that deepen side characters. That’s not the same as divergence; it’s adaptation craft, and when done well it actually elevates the manga moments on screen.

Practical stuff matters too. If the manga is far enough ahead or finished, the anime can map out arcs more faithfully without worrying about catching up. If it’s still ongoing, season 2 might stop at a logical arc boundary and leave the rest for future seasons or OVAs. Either way, my expectation is that major revelations and character arcs won’t be skipped, because those are the moments fans would riot over — and production committees are painfully aware of that. Animation quality during fight-heavy chapters will probably determine how the story is presented: some sequences might be condensed if the studio wants to keep visuals consistent elsewhere, while emotional beats could be expanded to give viewers a stronger connection to the cast.
