I love listening to Kindle Unlimited narration on my iPhone but can’t figure out the Audible or Kindle app setup. Where’s the audiobook play button after borrowing a title?

I actually tested this out with a book recently, Midnight Pleasure: 30 Shades Of Short Steamy Stories, which is a Kindle Unlimited ebook. I bought the audiobook using Audible (which is a separate app on my phone) at a discounted price using a credit – and it Whispersyncs. So far so good! The stories are all standalone and pretty spicy, which is perfect for a short evening read. So far the Whispersync has worked beautifully and I can swap between reading and listening to the same story without any problems.

This Kindle Unlimited audiobook was perfect for listening to while I was cooking and couldn’t use my hands. I loaded up the Kindle app on my tablet and started searching for a compatible audiobook. Once I found one of the many eligible options and clicked on it, I clicked the icon of headphones to start listening. There are lots of handmade genius features in this app, such as it remembering where you left off reading on your Kindle on any connected devices. For a mystery to read and listen to, I recommend The Thursday Murder Club. The reader is wonderful and really brings the book to life. The app also works with Bluetooth headphones.

Amazon’s Kindle Unlimited is an amazing service for us audiobook lovers. To listen to audiobooks on your phone, you need to have the Kindle app on your phone. The Kindle app is available for both Apple and Android devices. Open up the app and sign in with your Amazon account. Search for the audiobooks in the Kindle Store’s audiobook section or search for them in your Kindle Library if you have already downloaded them. Click on the cover of the audiobook you would like to listen to and click “Play” to start listening to it. You can also download it to listen to it offline.

With the Kindle app you can even change the playback speed, set a sleep timer or add a note to a certain part of the audiobook. I would recommend ‘The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo’ by Taylor Jenkins Reid as a good starting point for people who want to start listening to audiobooks. Please note that not every Kindle Unlimited title also contains an audiobook. You can find out if there is an audiobook by searching for ‘Read and Listen Free’. The synchronisation of reading and listening is really great for multitasking people like me.

As an avid consumer of audiobooks, often listening on my daily commute, I am a huge fan of Kindle Unlimited, which allows me to download and listen to many audiobooks as part of my subscription. Downloading the Kindle app is straightforward, then search for audiobooks listed as ‘Read and Listen for Free’ and open them up. From the book’s page, tap the headphones icon to begin playing or download the audiobook for offline listening. The player within the app is simple to use, with standard play/pause action, skip forward by 15 seconds and speed up/down control. I would recommend listening to ‘Project Hail Mary’ by Andy Weir – the narrator is fantastic. Streaming audiobooks instead of downloading them is also a good idea if your phone does not have enough storage.

So long as you’re using a phone, audiobooks will be easy enough to get to and listen to. The Kindle app opens to books with audio enabled, and within there you click ‘Play’ to start it, and then you have buttons to speed up or slow down the narrator. The app interface itself is pretty straightforward. I just finished listening to ‘Born a Crime’ by Trevor Noah – it was even better than reading it. Check out the ‘Audiobook Favorites’ section of the app to get some ideas to get you started – just remember that you can only access them if you are currently subscribed to Kindle Unlimited.

Can I read amazon kindle e book on my phone?

7 Answers2025-06-02
It’s amazing how normal this has become. A few years ago reading a full book on a phone would have been quite absurd. As well as the reading experience on a phone being good, the social features of the app are also really cool. You can see the highlighted parts of a book that your friends have read, if they have chosen to share this with you. This is all done silently and at different times so it’s kind of like being in a book club but not. The app seems to be at the core of Amazon’s reading strategy, which is great because they want you to read anywhere. The phone is the best way to capture people’s attention and Amazon have pulled this off well.

How to access kindle unlimited books on my device?

8 Answers2026-07-26
I can walk you through the process of accessing Kindle Unlimited books on your device. Kindle Unlimited is a fantastic service that offers a vast library of books, and getting started is straightforward. First, ensure you have an active Amazon account and a subscription to Kindle Unlimited. If you don't have one, you can sign up on the Amazon website. Once subscribed, you can browse the Kindle Unlimited catalog directly from your device or the Amazon website. The selection is diverse, ranging from bestsellers to indie gems, so there's something for everyone. To access the books on your device, make sure you have the Kindle app installed. It's available for smartphones, tablets, and computers. If you're using a Kindle e-reader, the books will sync automatically once you're logged in with your Amazon account. Open the app or device, and you'll see a 'Kindle Unlimited' section where you can explore and borrow titles. Borrowing is simple—just click on the book you want, and it will download instantly. You can have up to 10 titles borrowed at a time, and there's no due date, so you can take your time reading. If you finish a book early, you can return it and borrow another one. The process is seamless, and the library is constantly updated, so you'll always find something new to dive into. One thing I love about Kindle Unlimited is how it syncs across devices. If you start reading on your phone, you can pick up where you left off on your tablet or Kindle. It’s perfect for people who switch between devices frequently. Also, the service includes audiobooks for some titles, which is a great bonus. If you're ever unsure about a book, you can read sample chapters before committing. The interface is user-friendly, and the recommendations are spot-on, making it easy to discover your next favorite read. Kindle Unlimited has transformed my reading habits, giving me access to endless stories without the hassle of buying each book individually.

What is the official phone number for Kindle book publishers?

4 Answers2025-07-15
Since Amazon is the distributor for most Kindle book publishers (many of whom are independent authors and small companies), there isn’t one central phone number for publishers. Contact individual publishers at their websites. Many publishers of print books are also open to new material, and some popular web serials have been picked up by publishers — for example, “Naked Pages” was a free online novel that gained a huge following in its raw, serialized form, before eventually being published formally under that title. This is a relatively common route to publication these days.

Can you listen to books on the Kindle app on an iPhone?

This has become my normal way of listening to audiobooks. A practical tip: audiobooks can be streamed instead of downloaded. This becomes an option when you press the headphone icon on the audiobook screen, provided you have a good data connection or Wi-Fi connection. This is perfect for big books like the 30 hour plus epics. They can be a pain to store on your phone and so this way you don’t have to have them downloaded all the time. The streaming quality isn’t as good as downloading in the first place but in most cases of listening – in cars, on public transport, on workout etc – you won’t notice the difference.

Can I use a gift card for a Kindle to subscribe to Kindle Unlimited?

7 Answers2026-07-29
No, technically not. Philosophically speaking, many gift cards are disguised cash with strings attached. Most people would rather receive a virtual Amazon.com gift card to purchase the books that the person knows that that individual reads (e.g. KindleUnlimited books, other books by that author, etc.) and perhaps a charger for their Kindle.

Can you listen to books on the Kindle app for free?

5 Answers2025-07-06
Yes, there are free audiobooks on the Kindle app. I found Frankenstein and Treasure Island for free, for example. But if you want to listen to new books, you need to subscribe to Audible. Kindle Unlimited occasionally includes an audiobook with an ebook, but there are not many to choose from. If you are looking for something for free, look for public domain books, or for free audiobooks that Audible occasionally makes available for a limited time. It’s not much, but it’s better than nothing.

Can you listen to audio books on Kindle Paperwhite?

7 Answers2025-08-03
This can be done by: 1. Choosing a book which is Whispersync for Voice-enabled. 2. Downloading the audio book to your Kindle. 3. Go to the settings menu on your Kindle and turn on Bluetooth. 4. Pair your Bluetooth headphones/speakers. 5. Open up the book on your Kindle, click on ‘Play’. The audio will then start streaming to your connected device. The screen on your Kindle can then be turned off to save battery power. All progress is automatically saved. To return to reading a book, open up the book on your Kindle and it will ask if you want to return to your furthest reading point or your furthest listening point. Choose listening and it will open the book at the correct point, with the text from where the narrator had left off. A very clever piece of engineering.

Which newspapers are available on Kindle Unlimited?

7 Answers2025-08-17
When you think about it, the traditional publishing model of a newspaper is based on ad revenue and subscription revenue to the printed paper, delivered to your doorstep on a daily basis. Kindle Unlimited on the other hand, is a flat rate model for mostly evergreen content. If a newspaper were to publish their daily edition on KU, they would be pulling the teeth from their own publication and losing subscription dollars unless Amazon was paying per read in huge figures. Thus most such partnerships are loss leaders to acquire subscribers who will pay full price for a subscription after the trial period. So available papers are likely to be ones that are looking to grow their digital subscriber numbers, i.e. new digital titles or those currently in intense competition in the market. Established titles with good subscriber numbers have little to gain from being on KU and thus there are relatively few available and the selection changes from time to time for economic reasons rather than technical ones.

Can I re-borrow a Kindle Unlimited book after returning it?

9 Answers2025-07-20
I would say it is a clear yes. I have been a KU subscriber for years and re-borrow hundreds of titles. Most of the time I re-borrow titles to continue a series that I have started. For example, I will read a trilogy and return all three books. A year later the fourth book in the series is released and I re-borrow the first three books in the series to re-read them before continuing with the fourth book. The system has never flagged me or returned an error. Amazon wants you to engage with the catalog and re-reading old favorites to continue your subscription is just fine. There is no secret rule against re-borrowing old titles. I would recommend re-borrowing without fear. It is one of the most reliable aspects of the KU experience.

How to download audiobook on Kindle Fire tablet?

3 Answers2025-06-03
My Kindle Fire tablet is the best tool for audiobooks – I can listen to them while I’m in the kitchen (cooking) or at the gym. To download an audiobook for my Kindle Fire, I launch the Audible app, which is my primary app for my audiobooks. If the Audible app isn’t already on your Kindle Fire, you can get it by searching for ‘Amazon Appstore’ and then downloading and installing the Audible app. After you install it, sign in with your Amazon account (which links to your Audible account). You can then search for whatever audiobook you want to download. There are also curated sections like ‘Editor’s Picks’ or ‘Member Favorites’ that list recently published audiobooks that Audible members might enjoy. To download an audiobook, select the title and click ‘Buy’ or ‘Add to Library’. I also really enjoy using Whispersync for the books I’ve bought in Kindle format. If I look at the ebook for a book I own in Kindle format in the Kindle app, I can check to see if the book has ‘Add Audible Narration’ available for it. From there I can switch between reading a chapter and listening to it while I’m cooking, at the gym, etc. I also try to make time to go through my downloaded audiobooks in the ‘Library’ section of the Audible app and delete finished books from time to time in order to make room for new ones. The process of purchasing and downloading and organizing audiobooks is pretty easy and has really made reading a lot more flexible for me.
