lurking I read the physical book, but now I'm wondering if the audiobook experience is different enough to warrant a re-read/listen. The runtime seems decent. Maybe I'll get it for my next road trip if the library hold list isn't too long.
Do people generally feel the audio adds a lot? Or is it basically the same as reading, just with someone else's voice in your head?

That one's right around 11 hours and 30 minutes, give or take a few seconds for intro/outro stuff. I just checked my Audible library because I listened to it last month and needed the exact number for a road trip playlist. Pretty standard length for a contemporary romance novel in audio format, honestly. Not too short to feel rushed, not so long it becomes a huge time commitment.
Most people seem to get through it in a week or two of casual listening during commutes or chores. The pacing is decent, so it doesn't feel draggy at any point. I'd say the runtime fits the story's scope perfectly.

Around 11.5 hours. I remember specifically because I used it to hit my '12 hours of listening' goal for a reading challenge last year and was mildly annoyed it was 30 minutes short. Had to tack on a short story.
The pacing is interesting. The first third feels a bit slower as it re-establishes the characters and their new dynamic post-'It Ends With Us'. The middle third accelerates with the central conflict, and the final third has a steady, resolving rhythm. So the listening experience changes as you go, which helps the time pass.
If you're an audio multitasker, this is a good one for chores, cooking, or exercise. The story is compelling but not so dense you'll lose the plot if you zone out for a minute to focus on a tricky recipe step.

The total runtime depends on the edition, but the one narrated by Carolyn McCormick is roughly 17 and a half hours. It's a good length for a road trip.
I can tell you 'It Starts With Us' by Colleen Hoover is a fairly quick but emotionally packed read. The Kindle edition is about 336 pages long, which translates to roughly 6-8 hours of reading time depending on your pace.
What I love about this book is how it dives deeper into Lily and Atlas's story after 'It Ends With Us.' The pacing feels just right—not too rushed, not too slow. The digital format makes it easy to highlight those heart-wrenching quotes that Hoover is famous for. If you're into contemporary romance with depth, this one’s worth the time. Plus, the Kindle version often goes on sale, so keep an eye out for discounts!
Hmm, I thought it was shorter! I listened to it in what felt like one sitting (it was a long car ride), but my memory was that it was more like 7 hours. I must be misremembering. I'll trust the crowd-sourced info here and say 8:22. Memory is funny with audiobooks—a captivating one feels shorter. That's probably what happened. The fact that I'm even questioning it means it held my attention completely. So, take the 8-hour runtime as a positive; it means there's a lot of story to get lost in.
Sometimes physical bookstores like Books-A-Million or indie shops sell digital audiobook codes. You buy a card at the register, redeem it online, and get the file. It's a cool way to combine a physical store visit with a digital product. I've seen this for big releases. Call your local bookstore and ask if they sell audiobook redemption cards for Colleen Hoover titles.
It's 9:29. I like that it's a single-digit hour count—it feels accessible. Some audiobooks clock in at 20+ hours and can feel like a marathon. This one is a satisfying sprint, with a finish line that packs a real emotional punch.
