Who Are The Main Companions In My Immortal Cultivation Game Life
Early in the game, who becomes the protagonist's core party or sworn allies? Looking for names and maybe their initial roles or classes in the cultivation journey.

Ugh, the harem bait is real. Every major female character is written as a potential romance, but the MC is too dense or too focused on cultivation to commit. It gets tedious after the fifth 'will they, won't they' arc.

It’s fascinating to see how a work can be so structurally unsound yet generate such lasting discussion. The 'companions' question highlights that. In a good story, you'd have a clear answer: these three people journeyed together. Here, the journey is internal and solipsistic. Other characters are reflections, not companions.
Draco is the mirror that shows Ebony what she wants to see. The others are just blurred faces in the crowd, screaming about how non-conformist she is.

Wait, are we talking about the infamous Harry Potter fanfiction? The companions are a wild bunch. Ebony's main squeeze is definitely Draco Malfoy, portrayed as the ultimate vampire poser. Then you have 'Vlad' who is just... some guy, maybe a vampire? And let's not forget her 'best friend' who is basically a clone of her own personality. The whole thing reads like a parody of early 2000s MySpace culture colliding with Hogwarts.
I wouldn't call them companions in a traditional RPG sense. They're more like accessories to the main character's relentless edge.

I'm still not over the betrayal of the merchant companion. I won't spoil who or when, but it was the most shocking twist in the story for me. It made me question every other bond the MC had formed.

I dropped it after the childhood friend got fridged to motivate the MC. It was such a lazy writing trope. Did she ever get brought back? If not, I'm glad I stopped reading.

Humans? A low-level world? No cultivators or gods? Could that world be trampled as easily as ants by the powerful beings from above? This is Long Chen's new journey after being reborn from the flames of the Vermilion Bird, emerging to fight against powerful cultivators who always use low-level worlds as their slaves and playthings. He also discovers the evils of the world and the people who rule over these various worlds. Protecting, destroying, and shaping are Long Chen's new goals. This journey brings Long Chen into contact with various powerful cultivators and even those called gods. Fighting, defeating, protecting—all of these are already in Long Chen's heart. He will also meet his parents, whom he has never seen since the day he was born. Will Long Chen accept them? Or will Long Chen decide to have nothing to do with them anymore? Can Long Chen maintain his purpose, or will he fall once again into the same temptation as the black dragon? "I live for myself, fate? Fate cannot stop me! I will keep standing no matter how many times I fall. As long as I still breathe, there is no such thing as giving up in my life."
Humans? A low-level world? No cultivators or gods? Can the world be trampled on like ants by the strongmen of the upper realms? This is Long Chen's new journey after being reborn from the flames of the Vermilion Bird to fight against the strong cultivators who have always used the lower worlds as their slaves and playthings. And discover the ugly worlds and the people who are the rulers of those worlds. Protecting, destroying, and shaping are Long Chen's new goals.
A journey in which Long Chen met various powerful cultivators and even so-called gods. Fighting, defeating, protecting, it's all in Long Chen's heart. He will also meet his parents, whom he hasn't seen since the day he was born. Would Long Chen accept them? Or will he decide to have nothing to do with them? Can Long Chen maintain his goal, or will he once again fall into the same temptation as the Black Dragon?
"I live for myself, destiny? Fate cannot stop me! I'll keep standing no matter how many times I fall. As long as I'm still breathing, there will be no surrender in my life.
I woke up as the Villainess, but instead of a halo, I got a Scythe.
However, my power has attracted the world's most dangerous monsters: A possessive Werewolf, a bloodthirsty Vampire, a Tentacle-wielding Professor, and a Biblically Accurate Angel with a thousand eyes. They think I'm their prey to be tamed, but they forgot one thing: I am Death itself.
Set after the war between the Dragon Emperor and the Blood Emperor, in which the two emperors united to protect all realms and the underworld. In a small world where no immortal beings dwell, a married couple lives with their only son.
That life of happiness came to an end with the destruction of their village and the deaths of its inhabitants. The child, having lost his parents, tries to find traces of them, who disappeared when the village was destroyed. The further he walks down the path of cultivation, the more he realizes that he has actually been trapped in a difficult fate. Will he be able to walk that path? Or will he end up losing his own life? This is the story of a young man named Tian Sen, who walks a bloody path to discover who he is and where his parents are. But he must become stronger to reach a point where even fate itself cannot control him.
“Why? Why don’t they care about people like us? Why? I, Tian Sen, will not accept any of this. I will walk toward the summit even if my hands are drenched in blood. Loneliness will not let me be swayed by the nonsense called fate!”
Even when one travels the path of slaughter, they cannot help but reminisce of the days when they were still young and naive. They long for the days when they can put the killing behind them and just rest in a town far away, where no one knows them and where they no longer have to deal in bloodshed. These thoughts always come as a form of longing for all whose hands are stained with untold amounts of blood.Wang Xu was just your average security guard working for a security firm. A thirty-year-old office lady, who got into an accident and is now trapped inside a novel series she loves. She was reincarnated into one of the side character extras of the story and meets in person the tyrant magician, the playboy prince, and the clueless female lead of the story.
The emotional core is different, too. In a standard xianxia, the drive is often revenge, survival, or sheer ambition. Here, a lot of the MC's motivation can stem from gaming psychology: the joy of discovery, the compulsion to complete a collection, the pride of a perfectly optimized build, or the social validation from being on leaderboards. Their 'rivals' might be other 'players' or even NPCs with advanced AI, leading to complex relationships.
You get moments where the protagonist bonds with a spirit beast not because of some profound fate, but because it's a rare phoenix with perfect IVs for their party composition. It's a different kind of storytelling that prioritizes system mastery and strategic gratification over epic emotional arcs, which can be a fun change of pace.
It's a resource-management roguelike disguised as a cultivation life sim. Every 'life' is a run. You start with random aptitudes and a random secret from your past. Your primary resources are Time, Spirit (stamina for cultivation actions), and Face (social capital). Every action consumes Time and often Spirit.
The genius is the 'Karmic Ledger' system. Major decisions, like sparing a foe or claiming a treasure meant for another, add positive or negative karma that influences random events years later. A seemingly minor slight might come back as a deadly tribulation during your breakthrough. You're constantly managing short-term gains against long-term karmic debt, which makes planning incredibly tense and rewarding.
The heart of 'My Isekai Life' revolves around Yuji Sano, an ordinary office worker who gets transported to a fantasy world after falling asleep at his desk—relatable much? What starts as a classic isekai trope quickly twists into something fresher when Yuji discovers his unique ability to tame slimes, of all things. These aren’t your average blobs, though; they evolve into absurdly powerful allies, like the sage-slime Dryad or the combat-focused Warrior Slime. The dynamic between Yuji and his slimes is hilarious and oddly heartwarming, especially when they start mimicking human behaviors (imagine a slime trying to brew tea).
Then there’s the elf archer Ruruka, who initially dismisses Yuji as a weirdo but eventually becomes his reluctant companion. Her tsundere vibes and deadpan reactions to his slime shenanigans add great comedic contrast. The series also introduces a rotating cast of antagonists—mostly arrogant nobles or monster lords—who underestimate Yuji until his slimes go full kaiju on them. What I love is how the show subverts power fantasies: Yuji isn’t some sword-wielding hero but a guy who wins battles via slime-based bureaucracy and sheer chaos.
I'm a simple reader. I see a long series, I start at chapter one. If I finish it and want more, I google '[Series Name] extra stories'. This method has never failed me. Getting bogged down in optimization before you've even started sucks the joy out of reading. Just begin.
