My friend borrowed my copies out of order and was completely confused. She read 'The Fire' before 'The Gift' and couldn't understand key character motivations or the state of the resistance. That's the best practical example of why order matters. The books are not standalone adventures; they are direct continuations. Events in one book directly cause events in the next. Relationships are built and tested across the series. Reading out of order fractures that cause-and-effect chain and turns a coherent story into a confusing mess.
Learn from her mistake and read 1, 2, 3, 4, 5.

I have a soft spot for this series, flawed as it is. The order is non-negotiable: start with book one. The initial concept—a modern-day witch hunt in a police state—is really engaging. The sequence matters because each book raises the stakes and expands the magical world just a bit more. You need to experience the siblings' desperation in book one to appreciate their growing confidence later. 'The Kiss' introduces some romantic elements that feel earned only because of the history built in the prior books.
It's a straightforward, five-book arc that doesn't try to be anything more than an entertaining ride.

It's a classic numbered series. Volume 1, Volume 2, Volume 3, Volume 4, Volume 5. The story is one continuous thread. You wouldn't read a novel starting from chapter 10. Treat the five books as five very long chapters of a single story. The order is intrinsic to the experience. Whit and Wisty's journey from scared kids to revolutionary leaders needs that chronological progression to feel believable. Each book adds a layer to the world, the magic system, and the villain's menace.
There's no clever alternative order that enhances the story. The standard order is the only order.

This is a full series of 3 books in one … each New book starts with a chapter marked 1.

Elise is once again zapped into another time and place, together with her brother and two friends—and this time, it is in Transylvania, wherein they meet the real Dracula. But this is not their only problem. They also have to face the Jinn, a powerful being that Dracula’s brother has procured by a warlock, and some strigoi—the origin of vampires…
How can Elise and her gang be able to destroy their powerful enemies? Will they be able to return to their present time and place just like they did when they journeyed to the Land of Magic?
The correct sequence is 1. Witch & Wizard, 2. Witch & Wizard: The Gift, 3. Witch & Wizard: The Fire, 4. Witch & Wizard: The Kiss, 5. Witch & Wizard: The Lost. I mention the full titles because some databases list them slightly differently. Stick to that, and you'll be fine. It's a fun, breezy series—don't overthink it and just enjoy the wild ride from one magical crisis to the next.
