How To Read Kindle Books Without Owning A Kindle?

Just got my first Kindle ebook but don't have the device. Can I use the app on an Android phone, or is a tablet better? Worried about syncing and format issues.

You can read Kindle books on your Android or iOS device using Amazon’s free Kindle reading apps, or on your PC using the Kindle app for PCs. You can also read Kindle books online using Kindle Cloud Reader. Right now I’m reading through ‘Midnight Pleasure: 30 Shades Of Short Steamy Stories’. Each of the stories is a short, self-contained romantic read that can be finished in a few hours, making them perfect for a quick read on your phone whenever you have a spare moment.

You don’t need a Kindle to read Kindle books. I read Kindle books on my laptop using Kindle Cloud Reader. That allows me to read with a larger display and I can highlight and add notes much more easily. For manga and others with lots of images, I read them on my Android tablet using the Kindle app. It’s a lot better at displaying images than Kindle Cloud Reader. I also use the digital collection of my local library for reading free books on my Kindle apps.

One of the ways to access your Kindle books for free is to download the free Amazon Kindle reading app for your smartphone, tablet or computer. For example, I have mine on my iPhone and it links to all of my Kindle books and syncs up any book I am currently reading so that I can read it on whatever device I am using.

In addition to using the Kindle reading app on your device, many public libraries offer Kindle books for borrowing through services like Libby or OverDrive. You can link your library card to download Kindle books directly to your Kindle reading app. Additionally, you can read Kindle books using Amazon’s cloud reader directly from your web browser. Lastly, if you’re a reader of many books, consider a subscription to Kindle Unlimited that includes access to thousands of Kindle books to read on your Kindle reading app.

I love to read on the go and my phone is my primary reader for Kindle books. The Kindle app is really simple to use and allows for lots of customization of fonts and also has a night mode for reading in the dark. You don’t need a Kindle device, as you can download the Kindle app to your iPad (for example) and then start buying and downloading Kindle books during sales. I also like to sideload EPUBs using ‘Send to Kindle’. It works a treat!

Even without a Kindle, you can read eBooks on your other device with the free Kindle App. It’s simple to use on my old iPad, for example. The highlights you add to a book will synchronize with your other devices, you can adjust the brightness and even listen to the eBook as an audiobook using Whispersync. As a Prime member you even get one free book per month.
