Taking risks has definitely shaped my life in more ways than I can count. Like that one time I decided to audition for a local theater production despite being a total introvert. I had always loved performing but never dared to step onto the stage. The thought of rejection freaked me out. But something pushed me forward—maybe it was my obsession with shows like 'Glee'—I finally put my name down.

When I got cast, the feeling was surreal, and it encouraged me to dive deeper into theater culture. I made incredible friends, gained confidence, and most importantly, learned that stepping outside my comfort zone can lead to amazing experiences. Those late-night rehearsals, the thrill of performing in front of an audience, and even the flubs became priceless memories. It taught me that if I had never tried, I would've never known how much joy this passion could bring me. Now I encourage my friends to face their fears because the rewards are often more than worth it.



Equal parts terrifying and exhilarating, taking chances is a theme I can directly relate to in gaming too. With titles like 'Dark Souls,' I learned the hard way that sometimes you need to fail to succeed. The moment I thought I'd rage-quit after facing the same boss for the hundredth time, I decided to keep going, and a light bulb moment kicked in. Instead of avoiding the challenge, I studied patterns and strategies.

Eventually, I finally defeated that boss. It was one of those triumphant moments where you want to jump and scream. It reinforced the idea that if I didn’t try over and over, I’d never experience that sweet victory. Plus, I gained a new sense of respect for the game and the design behind it. Sure, I could play easier games, but where’s the fun in that? Stepping up the challenge has been just as rewarding in life.



Recently, I was chatting with my younger sister, who's always been hesitant to express her creativity. We were watching 'Your Name,' and I mentioned how the film made me want to sketch again. She looked at me and said, 'But what if I’m not good enough?' We ended up discussing how every artist struggles with that inner critic. So, I pushed her to explore, reminding her that the journey matters more than the outcome.

I shared my first attempts at drawing—trust me, they were cringe-worthy! But the key takeaway was that every masterpiece starts as an experiment. After a few days, she finally picked up a pencil and began doodling. The progress she’s made has been incredible! In exploring her creativity, she discovered so much joy. Plus, she’s realized that the real fun lies in the process and not just the final piece.



My experiences might not fit everyone, but I've also learned something significant through travel. Years ago, I went backpacking through Europe, which was my first trip on my own. All those worries about getting lost and not understanding the language turned out to be unfounded. I remember the thrill of hopping onto random trains, exploring cities, and tasting local cuisines I had never even heard of before. Oftentimes it felt daunting, but I knew that if I didn’t dive in, I could miss out on all those unforgettable experiences.

Now I look back and chuckle at the mistakes made along the way. Those moments taught me that the world is vast and full of surprises, and trying something new can lead to unexpected adventures. Overcoming that fear of the unknown has definitely enriched my life in myriad ways, making me crave more of those unique experiences.
