Justin said. "Okay," Valerie giggled. "But it's not at a cinema," Justin said and Valerie stopped giggling. "Where?" Valerie asked. "At home here, we have a big TV, why would we go to a cinema?" Justin asked. "I thought it would be outside" Valerie hissed. "What's the difference?" Justin asked. "The fun," Valerie said. "Fun?" Justin asked. "Yes, laughter from the audience if its comedy, group tears if its tragedy, the giggling sounds if its romance, the popcorns we can throw at the screen, the crowd, just to name a few anyways," Valerie said.

’’ Adamie clasped his palms together. ‘‘I’m definitely getting the booze!’’ Andy said. ‘‘Drunk mofo,’’ Adamie replied, ‘‘Y’all remember that time Andy’ got so drunk at Brian’s party then he puked on the buff DJ and got his ass beat?’’ All of them apart from Andy burst into laughter. ‘‘Well, I’m better than fat Robert who passed out after taking two Oxycontine pills then got a dick drawn on his plumpy cheeks.’’ Andy defended.

She had plunged at him like she wanted to bite him when he looked at her and as he screamed, she couldn't help but laugh. They were eventually thrown out of the cinema for disrupting the peace but after Jade had managed to convince Shawn that it was just makeup. She washed it off her face as Shawn couldn't bear to look at her. As they walked out of the cinema, Shawn grumbled about the prank while Jade kept laughing. She couldn't remember the last time she laughed that hard. She couldn't remember the last time she had been sincerely happy. She had never imagined she would ever be that happy again. But she knew it wouldn't last. And this time, it ended faster than she expected.

Ragh suddenly asks, tilting his head and arching his eyebrow, looking like he’s genuinely curious about the answer I could be willing to give him. Instead of being the adult everyone tells me I am, I push out one hip, place a hand on it and purr, “because I’m sexy.” “I can see that,” Ragh mutters and after a few seconds, breaks out in laughter, holding his stomach as his deep, weird laugh echoes against the walls. It is a comedy, and the laughter that fills the room is infectious. Jim, too, seems to relax as he gets lost in the humor on the screen, a welcome distraction from the weight of his past. We all settle into the couches, sharing jokes and popcorn, the tension of the previous night slowly dissipating. It is a moment of respite, a chance to enjoy the simple pleasures of life, and I couldn't help but feel grateful for the company of these wonderful people. I briefly remember Stewart and as quickly as I remember him, I forget about him too.

THIRD PERSON Sofia sat behind her desk, legs crossed, the soft hum of the air conditioner filling the quiet office. Her laptop was open, but not on any document. N*****x ran in full screen. Some ridiculous comedy series, the kind she would have once called trash, but today she couldn’t stop laughing. She leaned back in her chair, sipping her coffee, eyes half on the screen. “Oh, come on,” she muttered to herself, laughing when one of the characters tripped over a cat. “You idiot. How are you even still alive?”

“Chick flick?” I scoffed. “No. Those are to be watched alone or with girlfriends and a very big box of tissues.” He chuckled. “Good to know. Comedy? Drama?” “Comedy, definitely comedy.” I laughed. “I can’t have you see me ugly cry. Not yet.” I was sure I had skipped steps by wearing my pajamas and pigging out on pizza and drinking beer from the bottle, but I was not going to ugly cry in front of him. I had some dignity.

MADEA Jason burst out laughing, so hard that for a moment I genuinely thought he might choke. His head tilted back, shoulders shaking, one hand pressing to his chest as if I’d delivered the most outrageous joke of his life. The sound filled the dining room, loud and careless, echoing against walls that had held years of my quiet endurance. “Wow, Madea,” he said between breaths, wiping at the corner of his eye as though tears of amusement had formed. “You really have a thing for comedy. I must tell you, that was good. Have you ever thought about signing up somewhere? You almost had me there.”

ROSE I head back to my bedroom and take a dose of pain meds. I settle back into my bed and turn on my TV. I surf the apps for a few minutes. I finally pick a show under the comedy genre called “How I Met Your Mother”. It is ridiculous, zany and over the top, but it is funny and enjoyable. Watching it lets me forget about my troubles for a while. I fall asleep with the TV on. I wake up to someone knocking heavily on my bedroom door.
