"I thought you were dead in some English ditch!" Caleb groaned as she squeezed him, a rare, genuine wince of pain crossing his face. "Lenochka... can't... breathe." She dropped him, laughing, a loud, raucous sound that filled the cramped hallway. Her eyes, the same piercing silver as Caleb’s, landed on me. She looked me up and down, her gaze lingering on my silk robe peeking out from under the wool. "And this must be the Ice Queen," she said, her grin widening to reveal a chipped front tooth. "The one who made my brother leave and never came back."

“The gate will take us to the Frost Court.” The queen looked through the opening, her expression solemn. “The Ice Queen rules there.” I peered at them, then at Alaric. And slowly the realization hit. Slowly.. Then all at once. I turned my head at the queen. “You mean Aya’s mother is not just some fairy—” The queen looked at me. “She is the Fairy Queen.” I whipped my head towards Alaric. His face went completely still. “A queen?” I said.

Because the woman he had fallen in love with, the woman who had been soft and vulnerable these past fourteen months… Had just single-handedly taken down an assassination squad in under a minute. It was clear that, memories or not, she was still the dreaded Ice Queen. Elona stood amidst the wreckage, breathing heavily. Her hands were steady. Her body thrummed with a familiar energy. “Mommy, that was amazing!” Artie practically bounced in his seat. Arlyle nodded, eyes shining with admiration. “I told you going back to the guild would help you remember!” Allie grinned. “Even if you don’t remember, you’re still our Ice Queen!”

PLEASE RUN, RUM! “Listen here, young woman—.” The Ice Queen pushed back at me—. I leaned in and hissed into her ear, “If you shift here, the Goddess will be terribly upset with you. There are rules, you know.” Her eyes flew open in a new shock—shock that I knew about the Goddess and her true identity—and then they rolled around furiously to search my face for evidence of me lying. The housekeeper had also grown very still, wearing a helpless look.

Nash informed. “What is happening?” the voice asked. “I did what you asked, now touch me and let me touch you,” the man growled. “I will be anything for you, Luna…” “Sure, I will touch you, after all, a promise is a promise, but I didn’t promise where I will touch you,” I spoke as I walked up to him, “And I am not Luna…” I growled as I extended my claws and pressed them right where he was pushing a blade on my mate’s throat. “I am a Queen… I am the Alpha Queen…”

I am utterly in awe of the beautiful creature in front of me. “Our mate.” Rohan mutters dreamily. “Our queen.” I agree.

We literally were being alone together in the crowd. Until Zach disturbed us with his report, “We’re ready to blow this place up, my lady. So it can’t be used for rogue vampires’ nests. Will there be anything else that we need to do?” I blinked my eyes and just realized I was the queen, not some woman in the eyes of a man amazed by her presence, “Do it, Zach. Let’s get back to the mansion, I’m famished.” I accidentally said ‘famished’ while looking at the doctor. He looked scared and he gulped as it could be seen that his Adam’s apple was moving.

Her lips curve into a smile, eyes bright. It is Alfred, next, whose shoulders sag with relief so intense one might taste it. They are roars, he realizes, as the sounds draw closer. “What is that noise,” Duchess Clair asks sharply in the frozen room. Darla stands, as does Alfred. “It is your daughter, Duchess,” she laughs. “Lady Alcina, the dragonlord. Stormbringer.” * * * * * * * * * * The dragons land with twin roars, making the ground beneath them shake with the weight of their descent.

I asked getting all excited like the kids did for ice cream. Jax chuckled, “Alida, this is my mate Tora Maie. Tora this is my best friend, Alida. Queen Alida to be exact.” “Jax, what did I tell you about that shit?!” I glared. “Please just call me Cheyenne or Alida. It’s a long story but I answer to both names. I do NOT answer to Queen or your highness or anything of the sort.” I glared back at Jax.

“They say the Ice Queen has the ability to grant you a power. They say you’ll be invincible, indestructible even. All you have to do is go on a journey in the Cildreth Demon Realm and seek for her highness. You have to personally ask her to bestow you the said gift.” My eyes twinkled with everything I just heard and a huge smile started forming in my pinkish lips. Finally, I found a way to become stronger. My heart races with the overflowing exuberance and bliss. I run forward, casually jumping out of rapture. I feel ecstatic with this newfound knowledge. This will be thrilling. I can’t wait to go on an adventure and meet the Queen herself! =^._.^= ∫
