Lyra’s POV My name is Lyra Ashwood, and today I turn eighteen — the day meant to decide everything. To the pack, I am the Alpha’s daughter: a princess born into the bloodline of Kael Ashwood, the most feared and respected ruler among the packs. Behind these walls, I am something else entirely. These were swiftly defeated by joined forces of Kandreah, his sister–the infamous Nethenaiah, my ex Beta Merlius, my daughter, that Wengarthrian commander called Norgarth and his army. I watched him and Aralyn hack through demons in a flurry of swift, smooth and well-coordinated movements. I overheard bits and pieces of their spat while I was still tangled in a fight with Meeran and saw her punching him in the heat of that debate. Is it wrong to say that I felt a bit proud to see my daughter throw a punch at the first commander of the army of Hades’s son? She is feisty and fearless; I love every trait of her personality.

"Alpha Vale, I am giving you one last chance. Order your guard to release me, make Molly apologize, and report what happened tonight through the proper authority. That is the only way Silver Ridge limits the damage." His face darkened. Molly smiled wider. "Limits the damage? Who do you think you are?" I turned to her. "Isabella Draven. Daughter of the Alpha King." The room went still. For one second, Molly stared at me. Then she laughed. "You really have lost your mind." She looked at Adrian. "She says she is the Alpha King's daughter. She came with no guards, no royal notice, and no verified pack record, but she expects us to believe she is royal blood."

It wasn’t long before the packhouse phone started ringing and the omega bought it to me since I was the highest in power in the house. “Hello.” I answered. “Hi. This is Alpha Hudson from South Dakota. Who am I speaking with?” He asked. “I’m Summer Everett. Alpha Ethan’s mate.” I explained. “Okay. Well, I received all of his faxes that he sent to me after I told him that I didn’t want to get involved with this crazy idea of taking on the Lycan King…Tell Alpha Ethan that he has changed my mind.” Alpha Hudson said. “You have no idea what this means to all of us. You really don’t. Can I ask how big your pack is and how many warriors you have?” I asked.

The weights weren't a handicap but a training tool she regularly employed to build strength and control. King Alexander watched with quiet pride mingled with concern. He recognised the cold calculation in his daughter's eyes, the same look Kailynn had worn when demonstrating why she was the most formidable female Alpha in the kingdom's history. The memory brought both comfort and pain. "She fights like her mother," he murmured to Phoebe, whose own expression had grown increasingly troubled. "Yes," Phoebe agreed softly. "But with your strategic mind." The combination was as impressive as it was intimidating.

He gently lifted her higher for all of the crowd to see his heir. After that, Alexander announced. “She is Elva Alexander Thorn, my daughter.” His voice is very clear and commanding. “She is the blood of the Alpha King and the future of our kingdom.” The crowd erupted in applause, the wolves howled, and all the voices rose in praise. The warriors pounded their fists against their chests. I barely heard any of the crowd. Just Alexander's words echoing in my head. I sat on the ground as relief washed over me. I cried in happiness.

“But I need to borrow my daughter.” “Oh,” the Alpha King said, looking surprisingly annoyed. It genuinely confused me. I was expecting smugness from him, he’d been parading Anastasia around like some prized pet after all, yapping endlessly about her stupid experiments. “Gentlemen,” he continued stiffly, gesturing toward us, “this is my in-law and my first daughter-in-law.” We tipped our heads politely. The men returned the gesture. Grey didn’t even look at us. “I guess we’re done here,” the Alpha with almost the same hair colour as the blonde nerdy looking loser beside him said.

"Promise me, Alpha King Thomas." King Albert's gaze remained unwavering, a mix of desperation and determination etched in his features. "Promise me, Alpha King Thomas," he implored, his voice thick with emotion. "Promise me that my daughter will be safe, protected, and happy in your kingdom. Since childhood, she has known nothing but cruelty and hardship. As both her father and an Alpha King, I failed to give her the security, the peaceful life she deserves.

Maya’s voice cut in sharply. Raine’s brows drew together slightly, but she ignored her. “What? You cannot respond? That means I am right,” Maya continued, folding her arms with a satisfied look. The girls around them became curious. “The king’s cousin? He is her brother in law?” one girl asked quietly. Another nodded. “She is from the Silver Pack too. She is the Alpha’s daughter.” “Then why would she be uncomfortable around him? He seemed nice,” the girl beside Raine said.

Her eyes swept over the dead bodies littered around. Sighing, I shook my head. “It wasn’t Alpha Cross.” Her eyes met mine. “This was at the request of the Alpha King.” Her brow furrowed. “The Alpha King? I don’t even know him. Why would he send someone to kill me?” “Because you’re Alpha Cross’ daughter. You can’t be trusted. Even if you have good information, it wouldn’t matter because at the end of the day…” “I’m the product of my pack.”
