I love raspberries in particular, and the smell of it is usually enough to get me hungry, but this time I just feel pretty neutral, especially when Madison takes the liberty to sit on the chair that Heather just vacated without invitation.
“Good morning, Ares,” she greets me sweetly as though we’re the only ones here. “How is the best boss doing?”
I cringe. What is this flirting style?
“Don’t leave me,” I mind-link Heather. “I will kill you if you leave me.”
“I know you won’t do that,” Heather quips, hiding away into the storage room.
“Fuck,” I mutter, then I force myself to look Madison in the eye without screaming in frustration. “Miss Fox. What brings you here?”
