Several wolves went still, their ears twitching.
“Did you feel that?” someone whispered.
“Like a heartbeat,” another answered.

“They’re making room for us,” I said, the words coming to me from a place I didn't fully understand. “The space between things is shifting. They’re clearing the path.”
