The wall of glass facing the yard drew her like a magnet. She padded over and stood in front of it, arms loosely crossed, forehead almost touching the cool pane. Aurora Cove in morning light was something out of a dream she hadn’t known she could have. The water was mirror-still, reflecting a sky streaked with pale rose and lavender. Wildflowers… lupines mostly, rested along the shore in gentle waves of purple and white. A pair of loons drifted near the dock, their black-and-white bodies cutting clean lines through the glassy surface.

The sky stretches above in strange hues, not the black I’m used to, but a pale glowing blue, as if dawn is stuck in a loop here. “I know right?” Blaire says with this wild grin, like she’s proud of showing me. “It’s beautiful… Even though it’s my home, it still amazes me every time I pass through the woods. And wahhh, this cool air—feels like it was made to wash sins away.”

Blues, purples, and greens merge into the Aurora, an infinite expanse filling the entire sky, interspersed with white nebulae that resemble a deep, unfathomable Milky Way shimmering and graceful. ‎It’s awe-inspiring, making you feel the enormity of the universe and the smallness of life. ‎ ‎When you encounter the Aurora, taking photos is a must.Tourists began pulling out their phones, eager to capture the beauty again. ‎ ‎Some even brought along cameras, like Ariana. ‎ ‎After taking a few scenic shots, Sophie shoved her phone into my hands, eager for a picture with the Aurora. ‎ ‎After a few snaps, Sophie looked at the photos and exclaimed, "Vivienne, you’re amazing, What a perfect angle."

Read descriptions that tried to capture the phenomenon in words. None of it prepared me for this. Ribbons of green and purple and blue ripple across the darkness like the sky itself is breathing. It was iridescent blue—almost glowing as it captivated me. As my gaze traveled to the center, the blue took on a darkening gloss. Peering closer, I counted the wings and realized that this butterfly had five. “That’s the Blue Morpho Aurora,” Xavier said from behind me. “It’s a butterfly from South America.” “The wings are breathtaking.” “The shiny color is due to the way the light travels through the wing scales and gives off a metallic sheen.” I glanced over my shoulder. “So, you’re really into insects?" “Yes.”

Ashamed that I've been caught, I quickly shake my head. “Oh, no. I'm so sorry for staring, it's just so fascinating, being able to treat and heal like that and all. And even if I want to, I don't have any ounce of treating magic in me.” I admit, which is true. Werewolves possess a natural aura about each one of them. For instance, a blue aura stands for the water element and werewolves with this aura usually possess magic relating with healing and for offensive powers, it can range from water bullets to ice daggers. It simply depends on the person and Pack doctors always have this aura.

Summer gasped, her attention immediately captured by the first tendrils of the aurora borealis as they began to dance across the northern horizon. "Alexander, look!" she cried, leaping to her feet and rushing to the window. "It's starting!" I joined her, standing behind her with my arms wrapped around her waist as we watched the cosmic light show unfold. Green ribbons twisted and flowed overhead, joined by hints of purple and blue at the edges.
