This time we will focus on the theme of betrayal, with the most famous work that anyone knows: "The Betrayal of the Ocean" by Milton Barr". - "I learned about this book at the castle; it seems to be Mother's favorite. But it's tough for a child to grasp the meaning, according to her".

Not yet. “She shouldn’t be,” the second voice said. Not questioning. Observing. “No,” the first replied. “She shouldn’t.” Fingers pressed lightly against the side of her neck. Louise felt it distantly—the contact, the pressure. Her pulse fluttered weakly beneath the touch, inconsistent, slipping in and out like it might vanish between beats. The hand remained there longer than necessary. Measuring. Confirming. “…it’s slow,” the voice murmured. “But it’s there,” another answered.

“What are you both doing?” Amber turned and they both saw Bathilda standing at the entrance of the classroom. “Someone is down here,” Sage said and added, “still alive.” Bathilda walked to where they stood and she looked at the both of them before looking down and she moved around a bit before stopping. She tapped her boot on the ground and said, “This spot should be good.” “So?” Sage asked, looking at her with a raised brow. Bathilda raised her head and moved it to the side to look at him. “Smash into it,” she said and when he didn’t move, she tapped her boot on the spot again.

Beatrice asked with a sigh. "Leave me alone. I'm finally keeping myself excited and not bored." Melinda said, flipping onto another chapter to have her eyes widen as she read the chapter's title. "What is it?' Beatrice asked, seeing that girl's reaction. "What did you say you wanted to find out? this one talks about Unsheathing the gift of swords." Melinda said, to have Beatrice nod as she picked up the book. She walked to the very place she had placed the lantern and peered at the book.

I go the opposite way, painstakingly reading each and every title. “Callie!” Alice exclaims excitedly. “I think I found something.” I hurry over, seeing her pull a smaller black book off the shelf. There’s no title on this book, only a gold Baphomet overlaid on the leather. “The Book of the Beast,” I whisper, eyes lighting up. “I think you did find something.” She cracks the spine and I lean over, heart racing. And then the library doors open and close with a boom, echoing throughout the entire room. Alice and I both jump, and she quickly shoves the book into her cloak.

I walk with Eliza and ponder many things about Garrett, and the oddly disturbing Mrs. Norris, or "Bathilda' as Eliza calls her. They are so different from everyone yet, also I feel cold chills when associating with them like, both of them are looking at me, waiting for something to happen. What I do not know? Garrett does care for me, I can see in his eyes. Bathilda gives me the creeps, and I swear I catch her watching me with longing. I pray it is just my imagination.

Theresa was old enough to have experience, but looked young enough to please Salem’s eyes—two key requirements for a housekeeper in his home. “Where is Salem now?” I asked. A good feeding would soothe my nerves. “He’s not at home, my lady. I couldn’t tell you.” Grumbling, I headed to Salem’s library. Perhaps he had a book I could entertain myself with. Once there, I found a book lying open on a desk. It was titled Mythic Bloodlines: Lost & Fabled Lilitu. Curious, I studied an illustration on the open page. It depicted a trio of strange-looking women, just like the ones Salem had been painting all this time. The accompanying text stated:
