Just relentless torment.
Enduring heat was one thing, but this was something else. My bones burned as if they were being rubbed down with sandpaper. Hot tears rolled down my face, impairing my vision. Sharp teeth sliced through my gums, filling my mouth with the metallic taste of blood.
My nose and jaw stretched forth from my skull, undergoing a metamorphosis that defied all medical science. Coarse brown hair erupted through each follicle, and my limbs bent into what should have been impossible angles. They moved beneath my skin like motorized parts of a shape-shifting robot. Then, as they met their resistance, they snapped and reconnected elsewhere. My back arched as I squirmed in agony. I
