Selene

Hey!! 

Mia was startled by the voice and immediately stepped back.

I haven't seen you here before. He tilted his hair as he observed her licking his lips.

Mia saw him licking his lips and she noticed a small cut on it. She knew he was dangerous but didn't know what to do. He took some steps towards her and Mia saw some burnt marks on his clothes and skins. Obviously he looked like he was in a fight. She gasped and took a step back. She kicked the creature unknowingly and the creature screeched.

The man looked at the creature and frowned. He got into a fighting stance forming a fire ball on his right hand. Looking at the scared Mia, he grinned. 

I never expected to find one of you here and you seem new. He said as his grin got wider.

I can't believe I'm finally going to kill one of you. Father will be so proud of me. He made the fireball larger.

Mia couldn't run as she was frozen to the ground. The creature shrieked and it ran away leaving Mia all alone

Oh your little pet left. He was such a tough guy the last time I saw it. He laughed. That means you're quite weak. He licked his lips again.

He was about to throw the fireball when a beam of light hit his face and that moment he was headless. The body fell next to Mia and she screamed.

She heard another voice but this one was softer as if it was trying to tell her "Calm down". 

She looked back and saw another man in a robe with a hood. From the hood, she could see sky blue hairs covering the face. She was startled as she quickly stepped back bumping into something. She turned back again and screamed when she saw a large beast like a tiger. it was four times bigger than Earth's tiger and it was dark blue with golden stripes. 

Mia couldn't take it in again. Everything was freaking her out. She was about to run when she heard another voice. A familiar one. She turned to her right and saw the girl with the orange hair. 

You shouldn't be out here alone and defenseless you know. She said as she bent down on the headless body and took out some coins and a dagger. 

Take this. He handed the dagger to her. And why didn't you defend yourself earlier? You could have been killed. Don't you know that you're in the forest? Anything and everything will kill you. The girl said with an expressionless face. You're quite naive from what I'm seeing. Are you sure you'll...

Its enough Selene. You're making her scared can't you see. The hooded man said.

But she isn't doing anything. We saved her life twice. She obviously can't survive on her own.

Mia was shaking as tears fell from her eyes.

She just saw someone being killed, a huge beast, and then this Selene girl.

Is this how heaven is? she thought.

Selene looked at her and apologized

Sorry about that. I'm Selene and you are? She said smiling and offering her hand.

Mia noticed two sharp fangs in her mouth and she passed out.

Hey!! What did you do? The hooded guy asked.

I only showed her my fangs[1]. Why did she pass out? Selene asked.

Hmm. Damon, the hooded guy didn't say anything as he looked at Mia. Something's wrong. He said in his thoughts.

[1]In Arcacia, people show their fangs as a polite way of greeting. Beastmen and most mages have fangs.
