I make my way to the lounge and find two stretcher beds and two ladies in white. “Hi,” I said. “Go put this on.” Future butt in before the poor girl can even greet me back. I roll my eyes and walk to the room and change into a towel. The rest of the day goes by quickly and now it was time to get ready for the charity event. “I have nothing to wear,” I inform Future. “That's why you have me,” she says and opens her closet. She takes out a black silk dress that has silt at the side.

Lydia asked, holding it up Vanessa blinked at her, then looked at the plain black dress Lydia was holding. “You are joking, right? This is what you are wearing?” What?” Lydia asked defensively, clutching the plain black dress tighter. “It’s simple. It’s fine.” Vanessa did not answer at first. She simply stretched out, grabbed Lydia's outfit as if it might bite her, and held it up for scrutiny. Her nose scrunched. “Fine? This would not even work for a funeral, let alone the party of the year.”

“But are you sure they have something *worthy enough* for me?” Austin chuckled low, sliding a hand to the small of her back. “Trust me, baby, whatever you wear here… you’ll make the dresses jealous.” The attendant, a tall woman in a sleek black dress, approached with a smile that flickered when she noticed Austin. Clearly, she recognized him. “Mr. Blackwood,” she purred. “Always a pleasure. What can we do for you today?” Austin didn’t hesitate. “She needs a gown for Friday. Something unforgettable.”

I was their personal dress up doll at this point. "Try this on." The handed me a black dress— a satin silk dress with a high split and thin straps. The dress hugged me in all the right places, it was nice but not one of my favorites. I walked out doing a little spin. They tilted their heads to the side with focused faces. "No." I was shoved back into the room. Being a dress up doll was not fun at all. They threw me another this dress— this one being a champagne color dress, backless and long. It was tight on my body and was simple. I walked out doing another twirl and they thought on it again. "It's not giving what I want it to give." Serene said.

It wasn't white or pink like I expected. It was black and silk, floor-length, with long sleeves and a high neck, but the back was completely open. It looked expensive. "It's beautiful," Mom sighed. "Black is such an awful color," I said.

Days went by quickly, and soon it was the weekend. Brayden announced we were attending a fundraiser for the city’s top billionaires, then handed me a black bag with the dress he wanted me to wear. The silk dress he chose for me was indecent. It was black and very tight, clinging to every curve on my petite body. the neckline was very deep, showing a generous amount of cleavage, the slit was so high my thigh was practically on display. Brayden stood behind me in the mirror, his hand around my throat as he fastened the collar back into place.

The butler greeted Alexander but ignored the others, ushering them into the dining room. As Alexander assisted Jenny in descending the few marble steps into the room with Carrera marble floors, conversation halted abruptly. All eyes turned to her, and she looked breathtaking in a black, drop-waisted Chanel cocktail dress featuring a plunging neckline that accentuated her long legs. The dress flowed to mid-calf, its sheer, delicate lower portion adorned with beads that sparkled in the light from the magnificent chandelier overhead. She offered a confident smile, reveling in the silence that enveloped her.
