There was a fine sword that cut through the skull, with the end of it dripping with red blood. Aramaic words were etched just underneath the figure like an unsaid prophecy. I straightened up and covered the ink before shoving my hands into my pockets. “Always sucks the fun out of everything. I should get it covered.” I turned to look at Terrell who only chuckled

I whispered, “Let’s... stick with that.” His mouth twitched at that, barely there, like he didn’t quite believe me, like he didn’t quite believe himself either. “Yeah,” he echoed, quieter. Then, neither of us spoke, he simply straightened just enough to reach for the silver tube again. “This is for swelling,” he said. His thumb flipped the cap open with a soft click. “And it will also reduce bruising, keeps the blood from pooling under the skin.” I managed to give him a little nod, "Mhm..."

The artist returned and I leaned closer to see the tattoo, my amazement made my eyes go wide—the half-drawn art of deep black angel wings covered the upper side of his back. I grimaced as the needle came down on his skin, drawing blood. “Is the needle made of silver?” I asked. The tattoo artist, Taide, and Reigh said “Yes. ” At the same time, and I physically winced.
