she choked. He didn’t stop. His voice went lower, more intense, every word an oath. “You hear me?” he rasped. “This ain’t over. This ain’t done. You are your mother’s daughter and my blood and Silverveil’s Luna. You hold. You don’t bow. Bloodmoon holds.” The world cracked. Baylee sucked in a sharp breath. That word — Bloodmoon. It hit her like a jolt directly to the sternum. Not just emotionally.

“And because something is going to happen soon. Something bigger than your mother’s lies and your stepfather’s games.” My skin prickled. “What are you talking about?” “The Blood Moon.” I frowned. “The… what?” Valessa moved to the window, pulling the curtain aside just enough for the pale light outside to seep in. She gazed out as if she could already see it on the horizon. “The Blood Moon will rise in a few months. It’s rare, but when it comes, it changes everything. It stirs power you didn’t know you had. It makes bonds unbearable. It turns desire into madness. And for hybrids like you—” she glanced back at me, her eyes sharp, “it can be lethal if you aren’t prepared.”

Theodore moved aside to give way to Elder Nyra who stepped forward on the stage. “The Bloodmoon Stag is said to be the guardian of the Moon Goddess’ secrets. It is translucent silver-red, seen only through peripheral vision, often leaving behind glowing hoofprints and a trail of mist. When approached with aggression, it vanishes. When approached with reverence, it reveals a piece of itself willingly.” she paused, and her gray, lifeless eyes only staring forward into space.

It was Ersa who replied, stepping forward with a new, fluid grace that felt ancient. “It is the doing of Hades,” she said, her voice steady. “The Bloodmoon will not be a singular night. It is slated to last for two entire months.” I felt a cold prickle of annoyance. Two months of this sky? The aesthetic nightmare alone was enough to make me consider treason.

“Lend me your blood, Miss Hale.” “You want me to bleed on my mirror?” He inclined his head. “She will only yield to you.” Brenda buzzed the light softly — once for yes. I groaned. “Fine. But if I accidentally unlock a hellmouth, I’m billing you for therapy.” --- I pricked my finger with Brenda Classic and let one drop fall onto the glass. The mirror flared — gold, brilliant, alive. Lucien’s expression shifted from cold detachment to startled awe. “Is it working?” I asked.

I wanted to say something, I really wanted to tell him that there was a mistake, or even a set up… but when I opened my mouth, nothing could come out. “Just like I suspected.” Damon murmured, his hands curled into fists beside him. His body trembled like he was on the edge of exploding. He turned sharply toward the door. “The Bloodmoon” he rasped, his voice low but ringing like steel. “It is in two days… get ready milo.” My blood froze. He didn’t look at me again. He didn’t even spare Daphne a glance. He stormed out of the room, the sound of the door slamming behind him echoed like thunder, leaving behind his last words.

No one moved in their seats to challenge the most powerful man in the pack. “Good,” he said, nodding pleasantly. “The meeting is adjourned.” We were halfway down the corridor when Nirvana caught a whiff of danger from the moon. It had risen fully now, swollen and red, staining the marble floors with blood colored light. The blood moon… “The blood moon?” I wondered why there was one when it wasn’t yet the time of the month. Rozen stopped so fast I nearly collided with his back. “Do you feel that?” I asked when I felt the energy shift instantly.

“I think I know what she was talking about.” I looked up at him sharply. “What?” He took a breath. “The Blood Moon.” A chill crawled up my spine, freezing the air in my lungs. “What is that?” It could never be anything good when its name starts with blood. “It happens once every few decades. It’s rare, but when it rises, vampires become… unstable. It affects all of us differently, but the ones with darkness deep in their blood… they change.” I swallowed. “Like Sylver.”

The night had descended upon them like a cloak of shadows, the moon hanging high in the sky, blood-red and foreboding. The Bloodmoon. It was said that when the moon turned such a color, destinies were sealed and fates were rewritten. For Seraphina Vale, the night was an omen one she had no choice but to face.

Isabella’s POV The night air was cool and electric, charged with anticipation as the entire pack gathered beneath the full, glowing Blood Moon. This was no ordinary gathering, tonight marked the sacred Blood Moon Ceremony, a tradition that stretched back centuries, honoring unity and the strength of our pack. The glowing red light cast eerie shadows on the trees surrounding the estate, flickering over faces tense with cautious hope. Cain and his elders were here, dressed in ceremonial robes as formal guests, a symbol of the fragile peace that still felt like a thread pulled too tight.
