How did she have my eyes if Marissa was her aunt? “How old are you?” I asked her. “Almost 16,” she said, and I started doing the math in my head. “Are you visiting Marissa?” I asked her. “I’m in boarding school, and we just closed for the year. I always come home to Marissa for the holidays,” Lucy answered me.

She offered Aislen a bloodied knitting needle. “It hurts like nothing else, but give it a good shove, and you won’t be pregnant anymore.” Aislen danced back from the puddle of blood that formed around Lucy’s feet, dripping down her legs and staining her socks. “They don’t care what happens to us,” Lucy told her, her skin turning black and her body crumbling into dust before Aislen’s eyes, until nothing remained but a sticky pool of blood reflecting her own face back at her.

Orla defended her stance and said softly, “I think they looked cute together. Mary’s so pretty and comes from a remarkable family.” Lucy chimed in, “If you ask me, I think she looks cunning.” Sophia stared at Lucy, thinking the latter had really fair skin. In fact, Lucy’s skin was as white as milk, and it looked silky too. Sophia swore she couldn’t even spit any pores on Lucy’s skin. Lucy had mono eyelids, but her eyes were big and round. All of this was enough to tell anyone that she had lived a sheltered life, so it was no surprise that she was this wise.

Covering her face with a vile, leaving only her eyes uncovered. Already going back on words of not forgiving Ruby, Eric's heart melted. Eric nearly lost his breath.
