Bianca turned over on the bed as though the silk beneath her could not contain the restlessness in her bones. Her limbs tangled, her breath came shallow and quick, and her thoughts moved like knives precise, hungry, and unstoppable. The moon outside painted the room in a cold, indifferent wash of light, but inside her chest a different light had begun hot, dangerous, and greedy. My son has blue eyes, The thought pulsed through her like a promise and a threat. Blue the color of storm-tide, of things that did not belong, blue that belonged to legends and lineage, to masters who recognized blood and wanted to own it.

I’m not sure what the hour is when I next wake. Tai is dozing peacefully next to me, the blanket half discarded off his body. Slipping out of bed, I pad through the pale moonlight, shivering. Something woke me, which I vaguely remember to be a nightmare including frosty blue eyes and a silvery marking. And death. A lot of death.

I paced around nervously while she just laughed at me. "Calm down missy." "Calm down?, I'm meeting his mom, his freaking mother Naomi, how the hell can I be calm?" Henry had called me earlier and told me to get ready, he said he'll be at my place in half an hour and we would be going to his mother's place. "You look awesome babe." "You think so?"I accessed myself in the mirror for the third time. Naomi had chosen a blue dress that was flair from the waist down because of my stomach. It stopped just at my knees and had silver decorations all over it.

Another millimeter more…that’s all that stands between this yawning emptiness and…that feeling of something I crave that I still don’t understand. His eyes flash blue with shades of a deep, dark violet in them that hints at secrets, at nightmares. A growl rips from him. I shiver. Then, still holding my gaze, he pulls out, all the way out of me.

She was my best friend after all. “Okay, let me start again. I get this dream from time to time about a woman and a unicorn and an elf and a fairy.” I went on explaining the dream as I had to Josh. I described every one of them to her and as I did, I could see it all in my mind. When I got to the end where they all turn to welcome the stranger, I caught my first ever glimpse of him. His long, dark brown hair perfectly reflected the sun as it shined. His complexion was even and tan, almost like Laylan's perfect skin tone. But his eyes! His eyes were breathtaking! Warm brown rimmed beautiful blue eyes with dark lashes that lined them, making them stand out.

Chapter 14. Angela has a dream where she's tied to a tree surrounded by blue water, she looks down at the water but she sees a different person as her reflection, a more powerful and stronger female that looks like her, but she could swear it wasn't her. Her reflection looked more lively, happy , chubby and refreshed. She paused for a second to notice if anything would happen to her reflection, but it was still there staring right in the face. Angela became even more scared, because she had never seen such a thing before. How can a reflection or shadow be more healthier than the person who owns the reflection?

Blue Artemis leaves me again to make a few work calls and I decide to get ready for bed early. I shower and climb into our bed before eight. At some point I feel the bed dip but I ignore it and go back to sleep. My mind works over time while I sleep sending me nightmares of a different kind. Instead of reminders of my past they are glimpses of my future with Artemis. None of them end well. I haven’t been someone who believes dreams are glimpses into the future but these dreams are so posable that could easily be premonitions.

I scream that they may have tattooed me, but I’m not one of them and I don’t want to go on anymore stupid missions. It works better than I hoped. Carden doesn’t stop by for days on end leaving me with my nightmares. They become stronger with each passing day. I wake up breathless. I wake up crying. I wake up with my fists clenched to the point of having bloody nail marks dug into my palms. I wake up with a scream. And then I don’t wake up at all.

Blood dripping from her lips. There was a blade connected to her stomach as she stared at me with pain.
