The last time I’d been in Falcon’s Reach had been for a coming-of-age banquet, when I’d had too much to drink and had gone to bed early. I wondered how Bianca had managed this. Her mother must have known Ambrose somehow, I figured. That was the only explanation I could think of. Soon, we arrived. The castle was just as I remembered it—dark and moody, built of black stone that towered into the darkening sky. The castle grounds overlooked the mountainside below, but it was too foggy to see much.

Azalea followed up. “I’m positive. I know that entire place and there’s no magic being used to hide anything,” Simoa affirmed. My mate nodded. “Then that means my mom will have to help us navigate the castle. We need to get her out, and then find the answers. I don’t want us looking for answers when there’s a chance we could piss that thing off and have it hurt my mom, especially now that it knows my dad’s back in the kingdom.” “They’re moving in a couple of hours to launch the attack on Carlton,” I informed them.

I breathed in deep, soaking it all in. “We're staying here?” I gasped, still in awe. “For a few days,” Freddie replied with a shrug. “I don't want to overload you with protocol yet, and this is the most private house. We'll be able to get you up to speed on all the rules here.” “It's beautiful,” I replied, still staring at the stone architecture. “I've never seen a castle before. Isn't there supposed to be a moat?” “No moat,” Freddie replied. “But we do keep a catapult on hand for invasions.”

So, I decided it was best to keep mute instead. The uncomfortable silence lingered for hours as we rode past the mountains, to the other side of the North, into the capital, which I heard was under his territory. After a while, we arrived at the notorious Crescent North Pack, known for everything it stood for. We rode a few more and we arrived at a castle. It was beautiful from the outside. Like nothing that I've seen before, it was truly beautiful. When we approached the castle, some warriors sauntered to us, bowing in respect to Killian. They took the reins of the horses, while someone helped me with my belongings.

They huffed and panted the higher they climbed up until they reached the top of the hill. Atzi was in awe of the sheer humongous size of Damon’s castle. “...who needs a place this big..?” she thought to herself. The castle was made of old marble and granite stones. It had several towers and it was very tall and very long. They went around to the back side of the castle, careful to not be seen as there were guards around the castle standing watch. Motus led her to a cellar entrance and tried opening it but couldn’t because of his paws.

The castle, with its glittering lights against the dark sky, really did appear really beautiful. Mona smiled down at Rue with love and said, "Then let's go see." Mona escorted Luke and Rue to the front of the castle. Sadly, the workers inside may have already left for the day because the main door of the castle was locked. She glanced sadly at Luke and Rue and said, "It looks like we can't go into the castle today. We'll have to come back later.” But Luke and Rue smiled at each other, and then clapped their hands. The door to the castle opened. Mona couldn't believe what she saw, so she looked at Trent.
