I’m standing in a cavern so massive I can’t see the ceiling. Chains thicker than my body stretch across the space, pinning a colossal dragon to the stone floor. Its scales are black as midnight, but they shimmer with veins of molten gold. Its eyes are ancient and burning and lock onto me. Rhea. The voice isn’t sound, it’s in my bones. I take a step forward without meaning to.

I heard the stairs creaking and I tried not to groan. I don’t know how long Dru and I had been down here; I just knew that I had completely lost touch with my dragon. Tianlong had used the last of his power to heal me. Now he was resting deep within me; although in my weaken state there was no chance of him healing anytime soon. My entire body ached from the beatings the wolves had given to me, and being chained with 24 Karat gold chains wrapped around my neck, arms, and legs. I had no chance of escaping.

He examined the engraving. “No.” I looked. The dragon wasn’t like Nicholas’s personal symbols. It had two heads. Wings spread. A crown between them. Lydia leaned closer. “That’s not a dragon.” “What?” I asked. She pointed. “Look at the tails.” Two bodies. Intertwined. Not one creature. Two. “Twins,” I whispered. Lydia looked at me. The room went silent again. Chase frowned. “I never noticed.” Nicholas turned the key.

Dragon said hoping she would give up and allow her human to take over. Rocha just screech in response and poised herself readying to attack. Shawna had called her missile launcher again pointing it at Rocha. Dradon knew he had to do something, so without thought, he charged at Rocha using his hind legs to grab her wings and pulled them back. Rocha screeched and let out her dragons flame and in the next instant Dradon struck her in the back of the neck. He bit down hard, sending his dragon flames into Rocha's neck, hoping that imprinting her would stop her, so he didn't have to kill his mate.

This creation was epic in scope because it reached the vaults of heaven and threatened to subdue the charging titanic draconic beast. Each chain was as big as the dragon's torso which glinted brightly in the morning sun.

I spent hours studying the text. I learned about Alice's Dragon, referred to in ancient languages as the 'Rare Healer of Fire.' This unique dragon was gifted with ancient magic. If the Rare Healer of Fire mated with another dragon, they would be reborn as humans but retain the ability to use dragon magic without their dragon forms.
