Charlotte suddenly paused mid-rant, a sly smile creeping across her face. She tossed her phone onto the bed and leaned against the dresser, arms crossed, her expression calm and calculating.
“Actually,” she said, her tone shifting to something almost playful, “coming late might not be such a bad thing after all.”
I froze, one shoe in my hand, glaring at her in disbelief. “What are you even talking about?”
She shrugged, her smile growing wider. “Think about it, Alex. You’re the President of the United States, and I’m the daughter of a powerful billionaire. People *expect* us to make an entrance.”
