I smiled, not expecting less from them. "Okay, this is about to be fun. Get comfortable, everyone," she said. The party is strictly for close friends, so everything is not extravagant. Everyone took their seats on the soft cushion. Yes, it’s a sit-down party, and the theme is to wear anything comfortable, but everyone came wearing pink and blue. I should have known Octavia planned this without us knowing. She signalled the guards, and they nodded their heads. She took her seat with Silver and the kids, and everywhere got dark. A soft melody played as a star appeared on the ceiling.

The Engagement Party Adrian and Sophia stood together in the center of the room. The engagement party was in full swing all around them. It was not a big, fancy ballroom party like their first engagement years ago. It was a small, warm room in a restaurant they both loved downtown. The lights were soft and yellow and low. The music playing in the background was gentle jazz, not too loud, so people could talk. The people in the room were smiling and laughing. Everyone who really mattered was there. Just close family and a few true friends.

“So, anyway there’s a party this Friday at Chelsea’s again. I saw you guys at the last one and you should definitely make another appearance. Everybody raved about you guys.” Ava twirled a lock of her hair between her fingers. “Is Chelsea inviting us or Byron?” Chelsea didn’t seem to notice the edge in her tone. “Well, of course Byron but the rest of you are welcome.” “How wonderful.” Damien flashed her a smile, but I could clearly see he meant it sarcastically. Ava shrugged. “Could be fun.” “Of course it’ll be fun. Chelsea throws the best parties.” Lisa rolled her eyes dramatically. “It’s not like you forest kids have anything else going on, right?”

she thought, then turn her back about to leave but before she could make a move her dad got a glimpse of her, and call out to her. “Hey Chloe, how do you like your party” He asked dropping his glass of wine on the table, then he walks up to her. “It's very nice Dad, it's beautiful ” she replied darting her gaze around the decorated hall. This is her favorite colors and color, whoever designed this must have known her preference “Do you need anything else?” He asked after seeing how nervous, she was. “No dad, I just wanted to thank you. I wasn't expecting this though, anyway I will be leaving first, you should enjoy the party”
