THE NIGHT AFTER THE LUNA CEREMONY — THE CITADEL
The moon was low over the Citadel, swollen and heavy, as if a wound in the sky.
In the great hall, the silver trappings of the Crescent Silver Moon pack had been covered with obsidian silk in respect to the new Luna. The torches had burned low, casting long shadows across polished stone and red wine spilled at celebration.
Perfera stood at the mirror, removing the ceremonial combs from her raven-black hair, her reflection painted in gold and shadow. The room reeked of roses, fire, and old magic. Incense still curled lazily toward the high, arched ceiling.
