“It might be a bumpy landing.” As we tumble through the portal, gravity hits hard. I pick up speed with no way of stopping myself. My arms and legs flail as my face hits the railing of the third floor landing, making me see stars. The impact throws me backwards, hitting my leg on the railing of the staircase. I hear the deep crack of my femur breaking. The pain is so excruciating, I can’t even howl.

It yanked me back and I screamed. “You can’t do this!” I screamed to the sky. “What does it matter what Cillian wants or Ian? Candido needs that pool. He has to wake up.
