SELENE. Sunlight streamed through the floor-to-ceiling windows, painting golden streaks across the sheets. For a moment, I allowed myself to bask in it, letting the warmth seep into my skin and lull me into a sense of fleeting peace. The night had been… intense. Overwhelming. Consuming. I was ravaged by the beast called Damien Cross, and my sore thighs were proof of that. And for a few stolen seconds, it felt natural, like a life I had no right to imagine.

“The part about forbidden desire. Vivid. Almost… personal.” I laughed nervously, breathy. “Yeah, well. Inspiration strikes where it strikes.” “Does it?” He pushed his glasses up. “Tell me more about what inspired it.” I leaned in closer, elbows on the desk, chest forward. “I don’t know. Just… things I’ve been thinking about. Lines you shouldn’t cross. People you shouldn’t want.” His eyes darkened. “And do you cross them?” My pulse was in my throat now, loud enough I was sure he could hear it. “Sometimes. When it feels… inevitable.”

On his phone screen, the link still glowed, he was now in the website "Need a cookie? Adults only" He knew what it meant he didn't hesitate. He clicked the link conciously, he was no longer the little Damian they held by the hand and directed what to do. The CEO of Cross Holdings he knew exactly what to do and the steps he was taking. He entered his details, chose a location — the Black Orchid Hotel — and hit confirm. When he closed his eyes that night, he wasn’t sure if he wanted company or punishment. ***The next morning***

Narrator’s POV. As Desiree ran to the western territory, she hoped to the gods that he was going to show up. She was finally interested in a man and she also hoped that karma would not play harsh tricks on her by making her chase the guy for once in her life. Disappointment was etched on her face when she got there and he was no where to be seen, she could not even catch his scent at all, she had been stood up by a fucking guy! He was not going to show up and she knew it.

They could only hope. I shifted, antsy. Desiree, ever the dramatic one, would prolong the suspense with a long speech before the grand finale. Perfect. More time for me to grab a drink and scout my next victim. Our eyes met, and I winked, a silent message passing between us. She gave a subtle nod, and I turned, heading for the bar.

Then it spoke again, all stolen mouths layered under the new, wet certainty of its own. “Cross,” it said. The word moved through the room like a command trying on a more seductive shape. Not an order. An invitation. The mating path behind it widened another fraction, and now I could see more than pulsing red walls. Shapes moved there. Not creatures exactly. Scenes. Hints of places not yet lived. A den washed in winter light. Two wolves asleep flank to flank. Hands tangled over blankets. A kitchen at dawn with bread steam rising and Ty’s laugh landing warm at the back of my neck. Every image flashed too quickly to trust and too intimately to ignore.

She’s self centered like that. I notice that it takes mystery woman a moment before she says, “I can’t say that I’m sure. Can you tell?” I study the piece for a few moments again and say the first thing that comes out of my mouth “Longing. There’s a peacefulness that transcends the piece.”

“Sit on the edge of the desk. Let me show you what I mean.” Mia hesitated for a second, then did as he asked. She sat on the wooden desk, her short skirt riding up her thighs. Kane rolled his chair closer until his knees were between her legs. The air between them felt thick. “You write about forbidden desire,” he continued, his hand resting on the thesis paper right next to her bare thigh, “but your words are too safe and too clean.” His fingers brushed lightly against her skin. “Real desire isn’t polite, Mia. It’s messy and makes you ache. It makes smart girls like you do stupid things.”

Troy’s groans grew deeper each time Theo rocked back, the line between comfort and raw desire dissolving inch by delicious inch. Neither wanted it to end. The night stretched ahead, promising more of this slow, addictive surrender.

I nodded, barely able to speak, my mind awash with anticipation and obsession. Walking home, every step felt heavy with longing. Every memory of her touch, her warmth, her deliberate nearness—and now the slick stretch of her toys deep inside me—replayed in my mind like a private, tantalizing film. I realized, with a thrill that was part fear, part exhilaration, that I had crossed a threshold. I was no longer just intrigued. I was consumed. Obsessed. Enchanted. And the yoga studio, once a place of calm, had become the crucible in which desire, slow and deliberate, had claimed me entirely.
