Ashton's face turned very pale. “What happened to her?” Daemon's voice was shaking as he began to speak. “She fought like a true warrior. She blazed like a forest fire. No surprises.” Dante’s smirk was gone, replaced by something unreadable. “Understood.” Raven took a deep breath, feeling the hum of authority settle over her. She was no longer just an observer, no longer just the woman holding pieces together between two brothers. She was a player, and this city, this empire in ashes, was her chessboard. Are you acquainted with Lord Vlad?" Vanora kept her hell fire blazing around her as a precaution and shook her head. Raven's eyes narrowed. She did not look the slightest bit concerned about being dangerously close to Vanora's hell fire. "How's it possible that a demon like you have not met Lord Vlad even once? You may not be very strong but you aren't weak either. You're enough to make a difference on the battlefield."
