I whisper shakily. My blood turns to ice. They are not simply standing there. Their bodies bend at unnatural angles. Their necks hang twisted sideways. As the fog slowly parts, I finally see them clearly. Their eyes are completely white without pupils. Thick black veins bulge across their pale faces and necks. Black liquid drips from their half-open mouths. They drag their feet while letting out horrifying guttural growls. “Moon Goddess…” One of the loyalists behind me drops to his knees and vomits after recognizing the figures below. “That’s my wife… my children…”

“Fuck!” All I could do was yell even as I witnessed that sight, before I whipped out my gun and fired a round into him, blowing his pitch-black head apart as the gunshot rang. However, the black tendrils were not giving up and continued to climb up the ship—I stomped on them with my foot, restraining my disgust and from retching. It’s as if I was an ovum being surrounded by a swarm of sperm crashing their way towards me, although I wouldn’t become an embryo but a vile creature like them instead.

A sense of clear dread washed over me, and before I could realise, a growl pierced the silence of the night, another, and then another… And then, it hit my nostrils. A smell. Nasty, Traitorous and deceitful!—Black Beasts!

It woke her up a bit, but the vision of that arm seemed painted in her mind. She suddenly wasn’t sure if she could continue. ‘God, now I feel like an idiot… I can understand why Alastair didn’t want me to come here’ that revolting smell that came from the corpse-less-limb surrounded them, becoming stronger as they walked further. She realised then that the sight they would meet would be gruesome. Very gruesome. When they came across the place the smell came from Alexis almost fainted at the gruesome sight before her. The goblins, small and green, with cystic acne like texture marring their faces and sharp teeth which they sunk into other goblins, ripping apart their meat.

Before I can protest or ask for another moment to try, she grabs my arm and drags me toward another location in this bizarre landscape. As I open my eyes, the full scope of our peril becomes devastatingly clear. The creatures are so extremely close now that I can see the individual details of their corruption—the way their flesh hangs in ribbons from exposed bone, the writhing darkness that fills their empty eye sockets, the teeth that seem to exist in multiple dimensions simultaneously. Their numbers are absolutely terrifying, far more than I initially realized, with new forms emerging from the mist in every direction like a plague of supernatural locusts.

Then, something strange happened. The dozens of dark creatures acted in the same way. Their eyes rolled into the back of their heads, and the black air around their bodies roiled. Their bodies exploded one after another, turning into a rain of black blood that splattered in all directions, emitting a foul stench. Evil Moon pinched its nose, shook its head, and said to Xuan Tianzong in a righteous tone, "Oh, what a bloody scene and stinky smell. You should've kept it clean when you take action, Xuan Tianzong! My pure eyes now get dirty. I'm okay with smelling this, but you can't contaminate nature. You should know that..."

Its skin was vantablack: the darkest shade of black. If I were not mistaken, Satan was depicted like that in movies, and also religious people had a similar view of him. That was the first time I had experienced such a level of terror. My body was frozen. It felt as if my organs could stop working at any time. The ghastly creature had me stupefied beyond belief. Dread and shooting pain arose in my chest area. I didn’t know what was happening. I had no strength or will to find out. “Cassidy.” Someone called and grabbed my arm. My body shuddered and collapsed like I was having a seizure.

Then, just as she finished her chant, the air shimmered around us, and the veil dropped. My jaw clenched as my eyes widened in shock. What I saw before me wasn’t a simple clearing anymore. It was a nightmare. The creatures that stood before us did not look anything like humans. I knew that they were not going to be humans. They were supposed to be different, terrifying creatures, but nothing prepared me for this. They weren’t anything I could have imagined. Their skin was pale and stretched tight over their bones, their eyes hollow and glowing with an eerie, unnatural light. Like freaking lizards. Their bodies were twisted, and malformed, like something pulled from the darkest depths of hell

From the depths of the portal, nightmarish creatures began to emerge—twisted forms of beasts that seemed to be born from the darkest nightmares. “Behold!” Drax’s voice boomed, resonating with a sinister glee. “You think you can stand against me? I will unleash a horde that will drown you in despair!” Xienma’s heart sank as she took in the grotesque figures that crawled forth—monsters with jagged teeth, eyes that glimmered like shards of broken glass, and bodies that seemed to distort and shift. The very essence of fear radiated from them, and she felt the weight of dread settle over her like a heavy cloak.

The sight before Lisa was both haunting and macabre. Two lifeless bodies lay sprawled on the forest floor, their contorted forms telling a tale of violence and death.
