The Forsaken

The Forsaken

For an old man, he was a fan of using sarcasm. "I have no idea what that Duple Vin... means, please elaborate." He rolls his eyes at me, definitely not what I expected from my former teacher. "Duplex Vinculum means that one of the two, in this case it would be Kaya actually has two possible mates and she can choose who to stay with. Did someone else try to claim her as a soulmate?" No, that can't be it. Besides, she would have told me. I think. And no one besides me is claiming her, I won't allow it. Just thinking about that possibility makes me crazy.

A contract in Dubai

A contract in Dubai

At least, if some of them have thoughts of great disapproval or pure lust, in this city, they hide it very well. Dubai is not just a city focused on tourism with a bustling commercial scene. Foreigners really live here, work here, and build their families here. It's constantly growing, with construction everywhere you go. It's no wonder that many engineers like Jonathan come here to make a name for themselves and seek fortune. Well, at least I believe that's his profession; it's not stated on the card he gave me, but the contract for tonight's event mentioned some engineering venture being celebrated, and he's the owner.

Double L

Double L

He screamed, I laughed even more. What do you call it? A man of pleasure who is willing to do anything for a payment sheet called money. My employees called him male prostitute, an urban word that was foreign to me. I'm more familiar with the word gigolo, which is what the service provider used to say. "You have the right to be quiet," I whispered behind his ear, biting slightly, then releasing the monster preparing to rage down there, "and try not to make a sound at all." Without feeling the need to lubricate, I wanted to torture someone. To enter her many times full of intimidation.

Alpha Shane

Alpha Shane

His grip on my hip bordering on painful. Oops. The big bad alpha was angry. “No, yes, I mean…” “Princess.” “I read, okay? As in romance with dark themes. This isn’t really that crazy. Now obviously that’s fiction, and this is reality, but… dub-con is one of my kinks.” “Dub-con?”

I want to know what ends up happening for Shane and Adea. I feel like I’m wasting money to read the same thing over and over again. I was hoping this book would be focused on the life after last book not everything that led up to the curse. Besides the forced sex scenes are overdone and repetitive.

I came after adea and Ethan story. Shane has had me intrigued for a long time. I just wish I'd wait til they were finished before I start reading them. by the length of time it takes to finish I would've forgotten by then. I do love this story, it's the most interesting I've read

Frequently Asked Questions

I find 'dubcon'—short for dubious consent—one of the most debated themes in literature. It refers to scenarios where consent between characters is ambiguous, coerced, or situational, often leaving readers unsettled. Classics like 'Lolita' by Vladimir Nabokov tread this line with Humbert's unreliable narration, while modern romance sometimes uses it for dramatic tension, like in 'Captive Prince' by C.S. Pacat.

What makes dubcon divisive is its ethical gray area. Some argue it explores power dynamics realistically, especially in historical or dark romance genres. Others criticize it for romanticizing unhealthy relationships. Works like 'The Claiming of Sleeping Beauty' by Anne Rice push boundaries, making readers question where fantasy ends and problematic portrayal begins. Personally, I think context matters—when handled thoughtfully, dubcon can spark meaningful discussions about agency and nuance in storytelling.
