That evening, Hazel walked into their bedroom carrying a sketchbook. "I'm finished." Aurora accepted it. On the first page was a drawing of their family. Aurora. Darius. Hazel. And two tiny babies drawn almost exactly alike. Both of them were wearing ribbons. Aurora smiled. "Why are they both wearing ribbons?" Hazel looked confused. "Are they not supposed to?" Darius leaned over to look at the drawing. "What if they're both boys?" Hazel froze. The little girl stared at her own drawing.

In the end, I think they turned out great. Not that I knew what the others were for but there was also a frog on a log, a humming bird and a fat Cardinal. The very last one I was drawing was for Arlo. He got those picture for us, or more for me. It was of a wolf. It’s head was downward with his teeth showing. The hair was standing straight up with a human skull under it’s paw. There wasn’t any flesh on it, just the bones. Originally, I was going to make it a dead rabbit or something but this seemed appropriate. Keeping this one black and white, kept some of the mystery alive. “Charlotte??” Waylon yelled as he was coming in.

Not even a single try. “What does it say?” I asked, brows furrowing as I rubbed both of my palms to create warmth. The cold had been much cruel today ever since we arrived at the healer’s cabin. I encouraged myself to look at the drawings instead; the art style is pretty much gothic, if not ancient. It wasn’t inked. Hues of black and white were embedded on the golden brown pages of the material. I saw the graphics of a human and a werewolf. They were doing something strange… some sort of a ritual. Elliot did not flip the pages further so I ended up guessing that that was it.

“Cute. But the squirrel’s always been my favorite.” I wipe the deer from the screen and quickly sketch out a squirrel with big black eyes and rosy cheeks in reds and pinks. Hallee isn’t alone in thinking that since I get emails from customers asking for more of Pascal, the cute squirrel, every week. “Are you still doing the sticker pack?” Hallee asks as I color the squirrel in before I turn my attention to the forest background. I nod. “You want one?” “Yeah. I’m trying out bullet journaling and I’m tired of all the blank pages.”

I know it’s been a pretty rough week for some of us” she turned to face the class after writing her subject on the board with a marker, her gaze landed on Harley.

She flips to the middle. The page is full of doodles. There’s a drawing of a round table, four little stick figures with names floating over their heads: ME, CLARA, LEO, ANAÏS. In the middle of the table, a small box labeled in big letters: “CRAYON (NO EAT!)”

Harley says, wiping his tears. "It's okay, bubba." I say, kissing his head and smoothing his hair down. He opens the piece of paper and smiles when he sees a drawing of two stick figures, one being small and one being big, the small one being Kai and the big one being Vixen. There's a heart in the middle and it's colored in and outside the lines and- awww, she wrote her name at the bottom. "It's beautiful, baby. Thank you." Vixen says, kissing her cheek.
