Freya Woods leaned against the car door, laughing as Marvis guided her through the basics of driving on a deserted street. She struggled, tongue poking out in concentration, her hands trembling on the wheel.
“Relax,” Marvis urged gently. “You’ve got this.”
Freya grinned, brushing a strand of hair from her face. “I’m a natural, aren’t I?”
“Not quite,” Marvis teased, ruffling her hair. “But you’re trying.”
They stopped at a small ice cream stand, buying cones to cool down and sweeten the night. Freya licked hers with childish delight while Marvis chuckled at her antics.
