Even I was shocked by my own actions, but I needed to stop him from inspecting my arm. “My grandma told me to give my boss a hug for her,” I blurted out, rushing the words so fast they barely made sense. I tried to pull away immediately, but he didn’t let go. Instead, he held me even closer, his lips hovering dangerously close to my ear. “Isn’t it wrong to fall for your boss?” he whispered. I froze. He was surprised because I was the one who argued till the end. It was all because I was thinking of mum. She needed her drugs and being jobless was the least thing, I wanted now.

Chelsea's standpoint I sighed as I walked out of the back, my mind focused on Anderson. I wasn't sure he would ever want to meet me again. I was crazy about crushing on my boss. I'd always seen falling for one's boss as a cliche thing and loathed the idea. But now I was rethinking my stance, it wasn't so bad after all. In my defense, I developed a crush before I knew he was my boss and unlike other girls, I wasn't crushing on my boss because he's rich, more like he is cute and good-looking.

I argued. I couldn't understand what boss was thinking right now or how was he functioning. All I understood was that boss was surprising me to an extent that I had never imagined. "First thing. I fell in love with her and she feels like a need to me. I need her to be with me, so that I can spend time with her and protect her at any cost," boss responded and I couldn't help but cringe. Boss was acting like a toxic teenager who has fallen in love.

I was just his shadow. "Hey, I need the restroom," I whispered. He nodded absently. In front of the mirror, I retouched my lipstick. Then I saw her - Janet Maddox - behind me. "I didn't know people could look so alike..." she said, rinsing her hands. "Yeah... I guess," I replied, edging toward the door. "He likes you," she said calmly. "Nic? He's my boss," I answered. She smiled softly and stepped toward me. "I know. You'd make a wonderful mother."

Sophie felt like he could see right through her, and she felt a wave of panic wash over her. "Okay, just remember that if you ever need to talk, I'm here for you," he said, before walking away. Sophie felt a mixture of relief and disappointment as he left. She knew that she couldn't let her feelings get in the way of her job, but she couldn't deny the fact that she was falling for her boss. The next day, Sophie arrived at the office early, eager to start her new job. She was shown to her new desk and given an overview of her responsibilities.
