Elena pov To say that I was eager is an understatement. I was so happy and excited that I was finally going to work and able to provide for the woman who has been there for me when no one even cared about me. She was there when everyone else saw me as a complete nobody.

She said, turning her back against me and I felt empty and void. Her words rang continuously in my head till my soul absorbed it all. I’m nobody. The answer was food. It was comforting, and it was warm, and it was delicious. It was easy to buy, to hide, to consume. It was like a friend, and she needed a friend, badly.
