“Part your legs for me, princess” Alpha Damian humored huskily like he was intoxicated, I whimpered as he voice sents a jolts of emotions round my body. An emotion that I wasn't supposed to feel. Selene was 18 years old when she found out that Alpha Jasper of the Silver Crescent pack was her mate at her Awakening ceremony. Being a reject with no parents she lived with him for over one year as a slave and he never acknowledged her as his mate because he couldn't accept a reject as his mate. On her 20th birthday, her mate not only rejected her and chose her best friend; Imogen, as his new mate, but he also sold Selene to the most feared Alpha; Alpha Damian of the Crimson Moon pack whom everyone referred to as a beast. Not knowing why Alpha Damian chose to buy her, she can only resign herself to fate. What has the moon goddess installed for her again? Is this the freedom she solely crave for? Will she be tied down with the shackles of the unknown?

I stood in front of the broken mirror, glancing at myself.
"Broken," I muttered; my life was as broken as the shattered mirror.
My awakening ceremony was today, but I was not particularly excited about it, after all who would want a nobody like me for a mate? Yes, I have lived alone ever since and do not have any parents.
I scoffed as I looked at my reflection again and then slumped onto the floor at the end of the cottage.
I lost a lot of weight and looked really disheveled, but whenever I pass young girls my age, I can not help but notice the look of envy in their eyes. To be honest, I am not sure if I am attractive or ugly, but that is not my biggest issue.
While I was lost in my thoughts, the cottage door creaked open, making that annoying sound every damn time. The sunlight burned my eyes as I shielded it with my hands, blinking to see who had just entered.
"Selene," Imogen chirped as she closed the door.
Ever since I joined this pack, Imogen has been my closest friend. Yes, I am not part of the pack, but that is a different story for another day.
Glancing at her perfect skin, I called out, "Hey." Her life is far better than mine, and sometimes I wonder why she chose to be friends with me. She was the late Alpha's beta's daughter.
With a smile that made my eyes sparkle, she said, "I brought you some food," bending down to put a basket full of food in front of me.
I muttered, "Thank you," as I untied the cloth that was wrapped around the basket and began to eat, causing Imogen to giggle.
"Are you all ready?" She asked, settling next to me.
Pausing "Ready for what?" I asked while still chewing my food.
"It is our awakening ceremony tonight; are you not excited to meet your mate?" Her lovely voice asked away in melody.
"I am not, and I wish this day never came. I am afraid my mate will never accept me," I mumbled sadly.
She patted my back gently and said, "Why won't your mate accept you? Here, I brought you one of my best outfits; put it on tonight." She then handed me a wrapped piece of clothing.
"Thank you," I said, my stomach churning with anxiety because wearing nice clothes and looking good would not make my mate accept me; I am the daughter of no one, at least they thought so.
Standing up and dusting her clothes “I will meet you at our usual junction when the sun starts to set in, don't be late” Imogen said to me as she walked towards the door.
"Aye aye, madame," I yelled, making Imogen squeal.

The sun began to set, and I began to prepare for the awakening; rumor has it that transforming into your wolf for the first time can be extremely painful, but I tried to suppress my thoughts on the subject.
"I hope my wolf is beautiful," I murmured, tying my hair in a messy bun.
With a sigh, I set out to meet Imogen at our usual spot.
"I apologize for being late; my father insisted I accompany him to the mountain, but I escaped," she explained, panting and looking behind her.
“It is alright. Let us head out before it gets too late.” I held her hands tugging her along with me.
Since the moon was most visible at mountain Zumba, the awakening ceremony was held there every time.
We ran the entire distance to reach the mountain, panting as we noticed the moon was growing brighter. As we entered, we could hear songs being chanted and lamps being set up in specific locations.
The shamans, our new Alpha; Alpha Jasper, and his men were all present when we arrived. We quickly joined in with the incantations.
"Focus, the moon is getting brighter." The shaman yelled and continued with his incantations.
In the midst of misery, I closed my eyes and began to focus, attempting to forget everyone and everything around me.
I raised my head as a cloth dropped in front of me and heard, "Put it on." The terrifying servant smeared, making me nervous.
After glancing around and observing others putting on the clothes, I started to do the same.
"Pay attention" The shaman yelled out again.
I struggled to concentrate, and in a matter of minutes, I could hear myself howling in the murky forest.
Crack, I fell to my knees, screaming in agony; it felt like my bones were stretching beyond their limits. I screamed, prayed, and begged for the pain to stop, but it only intensified.
My bones kept breaking and ripping through my skin. I could hear other people crying out, but I was too hurt to concentrate on them. At some point, I begged for death.
Looking down, I noticed claws and heard whimpers; I tried to figure out where the whimpers were coming from.
With a thud, I collapsed to the ground, my claws quivering as if my body were too heavy to support. Upon hearing the whimper once more, I realized it was coming from my wolf.
As I struggled to stand and howled in pain, I heard the Shaman say, "Strengthen yourself, it might not look easy in the first try."
Finally, I was able to stand although my legs were still trembling, I tried so hard to maintain my stamina.
I turned to face Imogen and peered at her gorgeous black wolf with stunning hazel eyes. I tried, but was utterly unsuccessful, to see my reflection in her eyes.
I could see the color silver gleaming brighter than ever from my legs, but I was unsure of the color of my eyes.
"Compose yourself and gather your thoughts; you will begin to connect with your mate." The shaman instructed once more.
My mind started to yearn to connect with my Mate as soon as I closed my eyes. The powerful aroma of wood pine and minty leaves started to get apparent.
Then I sensed it. It felt like there was a yarn tied directly from one end of my mate to me.
I mumbled “Mate” While I looked around for him, my wolf let out a whimper.
I stumbled and trembled a little as it finally settled on him. "A..Alpha."
"Remain focused as you start to transform into your human form." The shaman growled, causing my gaze to stray from him as I started to sense my claws retract and I reverted to my human shape.
I quickly put on my clothes, covering my nudity. "It makes sense that they asked us to tie another cloth because our clothes would be torn while transforming," I thought to myself.
My nose wafted with the aroma of woodpine and minty leaves as I turned around and collided with a broad chest. I muttered, looking up to meet his level, "Mate."
Thud
I shook with fear as my butt firmly kissed the ground and he cast me a scornful glance.
“Mate?” He snarled, his eyes blazing with intensity as he glanced at me.
“Who would choose a reject like you as his mate?” He shrieked, his jaw tightened showing the struggle beneath his rugged exterior.
As I sat motionless on the ground, the disdainful stares bore into me, a stark reminder of my identity. With head bowed in dread, my heart shattered, wondering if I could endure the onslaught of their hate.
Author's POVSelene screamed as she was thrown into a vehicle, she held her stomach being protective of it.She couldn't see where she was but she could hear an engine starting up and the car moving. She tried to scream again but a slap was passed across her face before her mouth was tied up.She wept silently and prayed to the moon goddess that nothing would happen to her and her unborn child.Shortly the car stopped and she was shoved out of the car. The air hit her as she was dragged into a place and pushed onto a chair before she was tied up.Her mouth was untied and she screamed, her tears falling freely “Who are you people and what do you want?” She asked, trembling.“You have hurt one of us and you will pay for it” She heard the rough voice of a stranger.A cold chill ran down her spine.************CRIMSON MOON PACKDamian scanned around for any sight of Selene but couldn't find her. His worry grew increasingly. “Lucien, have you seen Selene?” He asked, his brows scrunched up
SeleneI dressed up quickly and headed back to the office. “Where is she?” I asked, locking my gaze on Adrian. He coughed, gazing at my hair “What?” I asked, darting my eyes to Damian whose face was cast downwards.“Your hair looks disheveled,” He muttered.I widened my eyes in embarrassment running back to the bathroom to fix myself.I scratched my neck, after I stepped back inside “We were doing a pillow fight, I told him it was a silly thing to do” I whined, smiling nervously. He chuckled, “Yes, I understand. Dorathus is in the dungeon” He said.I sighed in relief as he changed the topic “We will see them tomorrow” Damian said. After he left, I sat on the couch slamming my face “Adrain will think I am a pervert” I groaned.Damian chuckled “This is what normal couples do, it's nothing to be ashamed of” He coaxed.I nodded, remembering why I came here in the first place “Have you thought about Axel?” I asked. He sighed, settling on his seat “Although I am having a double mind, we wil
SeleneMy eyes were wide with shock at the people she just mentioned. I chuckled, “This is a joke. It can't be true right?” I asked, my heart beating rapidly.“It's the truth, Dorathus has always been my messenger. All those strange letters you got were us throwing a bait, Damian was taking too much time, I had to take over” She snapped.I gasped “Oh my goodness,” I said, my voice barely audible.“Wolftamer thinks he can back down after we have gone this far. Since he went to that mountain he has become off and then you visited him and charmed him” She screamed.“He has refused to supply me the concoctions anymore claiming that you are innocent and he can't bring himself to harm you” She snarled.“So you weren't sick, all this was a lie to gain power and rule. For over twelve years you laid in a vegetative state for this?” Damian asked.“I don't care if I have to stay twenty-five years as long as I achieve what I want,” She screamed.“I will not let you harm this pack and its people b
Damian“I..I, Damian what are you doing here?” My mother asked, smiling nervously. My eyes moved to the supposed maid that poisoned Selene before I gazed scornfully at my mother “Have them all thrown into the dungeon immediately” I yelled.“You can't do that, I am your mother!!!” My mom yelled as she was dragged away.I sat down in confusion, I always thought my mother’s dislike for Selene was because I never told her about Selene while she was in a vegetative state. But plotting with Olivia to eliminate my child, her grandchild is unbelievable.I stood up lazily and trudged to my chamber, when I got in Selene was already sleeping on the couch with a slice of pizza in her hands. Her light snores were beautiful, I chuckled, dropping the bottles of water on the table.I tried to take away the pizza but she held onto them tightly. I succeeded in taking the pizza away from her before carrying her to the bed.I slept off while thinking of how to handle this situation and how to even break
DamianMy mind has been uneasy since Selene went to meet Axel but I decided to act cool with the thought that he wouldn't harm her.I went to check up on Lucien who I bestowed with the responsibility of handling Silver Crescent pack members.“They are blending in and settling down very well, you don't have to worry about them causing problems for the pack” He assured.I nodded and headed to my office to attend to my pending work. I was engrossed in a file when the door opened.I raised my head and found Selene walking in, I smiled, dropping my pen. “You are back?” I asked. She nodded, “Hmm, a maid told me you were in a meeting,” She said.I raised my brows, frowning “What maid?” I asked. She let out a nervous laugh “The one you sent to serve me juice” She replied.I narrowed my gaze, saying “I didn't send anyone to serve you juice”Her face contoured and she ran to the bathroom “Selene!!” I called after her, my eyes widening with shock. There was blood on the sink; she was vomiting b
SeleneI felt trapped in this darkness, I couldn't move or even blink. My body remained motionless.I could hear voices of people both incoherent voices and audible voices but the one that stood out to me the most was Damian’s voice. He was constantly talking to me, filling me in on how his day went, that he was sorry for keeping a secret from me, and then how our unborn child was faring.I wanted to open my eyes but I couldn't. I heard Lyra pleading with me not to give up. I tried and I kept pushing but the pain was too overwhelming. And then I felt my hands move, gradually my eyes blinked and I saw a ray of hope. I fluttered my eyes adjusting it with the light. My eyes met a white ceiling, it moved darting around the room, and there was no one in the room. I was in Damian’s chamber. My hands instinctively went to my stomach.“I am glad I didn't lose you” I whispered.Slowly, I sat up and then I took a deep breath, attempting to stand up. After a successful attempt, I walked carefully
DamianI gazed painfully at Selene as she gradually slipped away, that idiot injected her with wolf's bane, a ton of it.“Drive faster” I yelled, tears rolling down my chin. Immediately our pack came into view, I pushed the door and ran to the pack’s hospital.“Get Doctor Ralph for me” I yelled to one of the nurses.I placed her on the bed and rolled her to the theatre “Alpha you have to wait here” The nurse urged.I peeled my hands away from the bed, stepping back. The light came on and for the first time, I prayed to the moon goddess to save her and our unborn child.Adrian rushed in immediately, “Damian how is she?” He asked.I shook my head, “She is still inside the theatre” I whispered, wiping my tears.I felt a cold run down my spine when I remembered that if I had been an inch late, Selene would have died.Hours passed and I hadn't heard any news from the doctor, the nurses ran out and rushed back at intervals but none said a word.Lucien walked in, patting my shoulder “Damian
Damian“Selene, Selene!!” I called out, chasing after her but Lucien held my hands.“That's enough Damian, you have done more harm than good. I told you not to hurt her again but you didn't listen” He snapped.I pinched the bridge of my nose “Am I supposed to pay for the sins of my father?” I asked.“This is not about paying for your father's sin. The moment you realize that you were in love with her, the least you could do was tell her the truth” He yelled.“The truth was more important than mating her or making her as your Luna talk more of healing your mother who doesn't even approve of her” He snapped. He sighed “Damian, she didn't have to find out this way, this is the highest level of betrayal,” He said and walked off.I sat on the couch, Agatha warned me but I refused. “How was I supposed to tell Selene the truth?” I thought. The door burst open and Adrain rushed in “What happened?” He asked.I explained everything that happened to him, and he sat on the floor “Damian, our past
SeleneI titled my head “Fancy seeing you here” I said, darting my eyes around to be sure I was safe.“I came alone, no need to be scared,” He said, getting close.“Keep your distance” I warned, eyeing him.He raised his hands in surrender “Okay”“What are you doing in this area that, too close to the Crimson Moon pack?” I asked.“I have been here for days trying to get past the borders to meet you but I can't,” He said.“It's called security and if I may ask, why are you looking for me?” I asked, gazing suspiciously at him.“To seek forgiveness” He muttered.I chuckled deeply, “Is that a word?” I askedShock passed through his eyes “I know I and Imogen have wronged you but this is me apologizing for my misdeed” He said.I laughed “I have heard that word a lot, it's now sounding like a broken record,” I said, gazing at him furiously.“You know, I am not even angry at you besides you have every right to reject me but Imogen, a lady I called my best friend, that's despicable” I half yel
