Emily stared at me for a long moment, her jaw slightly open before a wide, dramatic grin broke across her face.
"Oh, wow," she whispered, leaning back in her chair. "You have got it bad, Flora. You’re literally describing a romance novel hero."
"He's real," I whispered back, my heart hammering a frantic rhythm against my ribs as my phone buzzed against the wood again.
"Well, whoever this mystery man is, he’s completely ruined my best friend," Emily laughed, shaking her head as she opened her textbook. "Just don't keep him in the dark forever. I need to approve of him."
