instead, she looked like she was going to ignore the hell out of me. She was staring at me with a distant expression on her face and glued in a spot. That look… It wasn’t anger. It wasn’t even annoyance. It was worse. It was emptiness. And for some reason, that hit harder than if she had walked up to me and slapped me across the face. At least then, I’d know she still felt something. My head started spinning with different thoughts as I thought of what to do. There were so many eyes watching and us ignoring each other would be a new gist for the school and I didn't want that.

I knew he was waiting for me, but I walked past him. “Harper.” I ignored him. He ran after me immediately. “Harper, wait.” I kept moving. A few seconds later, I heard his footsteps behind me. I stopped suddenly and turned to him. His hand hung in the air and he lowered it back down. “Hey, why are you ignoring me again?” He asked, gazing at me so innocently. That upset me more. “Because I don’t want to talk to you,” I told him. He squeezed his face, looking surprised. He moved closer and tried to touch my arm, but I recoiled away.

Since I was desperate to get close to him to lengthen my life, I swallowed my damn pride and waved at him. He ignores me. Then I tried again, but he ignored me again! yet this time he glared at me. For the last 15 minutes, I've been trying to get his attention. But all he did was ignore me and talk to the guy beside him. They looked like they were talking about me. I wanted to hear what they were saying, but my senses were too dull even to hear it at this distance. He must be shit-talking me! "Rude bastard, you'll fall for me soon." I grinned.

But instead he just leans back, picks up his tablet, and ignores me again. For now.

I ignored it at first, until it became rather clear that he wasn't even listening to me anymore. "What are you staring at, babe?" I tried to snap him out of his state. "Is our food coming or something?" When he still didn't reply, I finally turned my head to follow his gaze, the breath practically leaving my lungs when I saw exactly what he was so distracted by.

"What?" "Whenever you misses me, just look at the brightest star in the sky. That would be me watching you from above because you know how much I am dead to you. No matter how much I really need to leave you, I can't. So, there I am, staring at you from afar instead. Don't mind the distance, alright? I guess I kinda expecting her to call again. I stare at my phone for a couple of minutes before hitting the decline button. That will stop her—for now. I immediately shoved my phone back into my pocket as my eyes caught Adrian leaving the cabin. I knew he was already awake—just ignoring me. There's a large distance between us, but it didn't stop me from matching his pace. I know he kind of noticed, but he's acting like he doesn't care.
