I would like to express my sincerest gratitude to all of you who took their time to give my story a chance. It is my very first written work and it means so much to me that I was given the opportunity to share my imagined world of fairies in a version that combines contemporary and fantasy. Thank you for joining Arianna and the rest of my characters in their journey to the world of fantasy and reality. I hope my characters would stay in your memories forever as a source of inspiration as well as an escape from the bustles of daily living.

Hello, everyone! This is XSkylar19. It has been a very interesting ride for me while writing Bane of the Dragons because (fun fact) this was my very first dragon genre. I know some of you probably disliked how everything turned out or how fastpaced everything happened but know that this was intentional as I couldn't drag the story on. Anyway, while this book becomes the first book for dragon genre, it certainly wasn't my first book in the fantasy genre.

Fancy handwriting on expensive paper. "To educate you on your new archetype." What the hell? I looked at all the books again. And it hit me. These were all stories about girls who got taken. Girls who fell for their captors. Beauty trapped in the Beast's castle. Jane Eyre with creepy Rochester. Christine with the Phantom. He thinks I'm going to fall in love with him. He actually thinks this is some kind of love story. "You're insane!" I yelled throwing the book across the floor. "I'm not a character in your sick fantasy!"

“And she enjoys that?” Her body twitched excitedly, slutty little minx that it was, giving her away. “Um, yeah. I mean…there’s a massive, massive difference between fantasy and reality. She wouldn’t really want to be tortured by the KGB. But being tied up and sexily menaced by someone she liked could be pretty fun, don’t you think?” “I think,” he murmured, “the boundaries of fantasy are less permeable than people realize.” “Um? What?”

With a renewed sense of hope, I decided to distract myself until the evening by immersing myself in a book. Reaching for a book on my shelf, a worn-out copy of "Mythology of the Supernatural," I felt a sense of comfort. I had always been fascinated by tales of werewolves and vampires as a child, finding solace in the fantastical worlds they inhabited. Maybe that's why the heavens decided to place me in their midst. I had never thought them to be real. As I flipped through the pages, my mind wandered, imagining myself in the midst of these mythical creatures, too bad I was pretty much me as a human.

I will continue dreaming, my fantasy hope as you said it to yourself–you will make that a reality. Fantasy is hardly an escape from reality, if ever that I can get away from this, it means that I found a way to understand it. Well, the word of reality has its limits, the world of imagination is boundless. Wishing that you are my way to reality, Aziel.

"This.. this is insane, mother. In fact y'all are insane. Witches? Power in my blood? What bullshit thing is that! That's the kind of thing people make up in stories for children and I know that I'm a full grown adult so what's all this nonsense, Mother?" Florence chuckled softly. It sounded cold and amused. "Looks like you've snapped out of whatever that peasant did to you. I like that. Well, as for your question, darling, stories come from truth. Origins, love. Humans only call it fantasy because they are too weak and stupid to comprehend it."

But without seeing what’s in there, I am only speculating. I got down on my hands and knees, not knowing what to expect. But as I pat the ground, there is nothing but concrete covered in hay. “What the goddess?” I mutter. There was a wooden floor on this part. I know what I saw. She had to be a witch and must have cast a glamor spell or something. I don’t know much about witches. But I’ve heard they can do things like that.

Yet another fantasy Prologue Legora, the largest capital city in the world. Once one of nine, now there are four. We had lost five cities in the great calamity. Creatures from god knows where poured in from a tear in the earth. A dimensional tear in space and time the men of science called it, but really who the fuck knows? All I know is they were bigger, stronger, looked nothing like us and they outnumbered us hundred to one.
