Fantasy Vs Fiction Novels & Stories

I smiled, pointing to one with a black wolf staring out with red eyes. “I prefer none. They aren't real.” Ryan drawled. “It's why they're called Fantasy,” I rolled my eyes, “what do you read then? Only non fiction?” “Nah. I read both. But I prefer Thrillers and action. You know, martial arts and gun shooting.” He turned to me with two fingers aimed at my neck, “pew pew.” I laughed, “Right. Bad guy kills good guys family and good guy goes after bad guys and single handedly kills ‘em all.” I groaned.

"This.. this is insane, mother. In fact y'all are insane. Witches? Power in my blood? What bullshit thing is that! That's the kind of thing people make up in stories for children and I know that I'm a full grown adult so what's all this nonsense, Mother?" Florence chuckled softly. It sounded cold and amused. "Looks like you've snapped out of whatever that peasant did to you. I like that. Well, as for your question, darling, stories come from truth. Origins, love. Humans only call it fantasy because they are too weak and stupid to comprehend it."

Endless tomes of geography were nestled in between, their spines a mosaic of colors and fonts, whispering stories of the world's vast and varied past. With increasing velocity, I typed through the pages of the novel, my hands dancing over the keyboard with an almost supernatural speed. Composing it had been astonishingly straightforward, as if the words materialized unbidden from my mind. Maybe the task was so fluid because I wrote of what I understood most intimately: the secretive world of the Fae. I embellished it generously, scattering bits of knowledge about other mythical creatures throughout the narrative and allowing them to intertwine with the main thread, creating an intricate tape

God knows I spend more time inside the fictional worlds I create than I do in the real one. So maybe this is just… that. This is just my brain taking something small and stretching it into something bigger, darker, more dramatic. Something that isn’t there. Writers are already labeled as dreamers, Overthinkers and delusional people. We’re seen as people who create problems just so they can solve them. And I refuse…..I refuse to let a fantasy override my common sense. It’s either that…Or I go mad. And I’m not ready to unpack that kind of madness yet.

Sprinted to the door, I pulled it open, not expecting it to open, but it did, causing my heart to swell in joy. Ambling to the shelf, my eyes darted round the various book covers. Fiction was my favorite book to read because the best thing about reading was to be able to escape from your life, to be able to read hundreds or even thousands of other lives. Non-fiction does not have that power, it does not change you the way fiction does. To me, if you are not affected somehow, even if it is the slightest change, you are not reading the right book. I would love to think that every novel I have read has become a part of me and created who I am in a sense.

Logan asked. Ellis shook her head. “We have fictional videos, too. We call them movies. They tell stories to amuse and entertain, not to inform. Like novels… but on film.” “How confusing! How do people know which is true and which is not?” Leo asked. “We called the real one's documentary. The movies were more popular, though.” “That’s a thing about our culture. Humans prefer fantasy to truth.” Ellis looked down at Mitch’s image on the screen. “Some people here seem to prefer it, too.”

Apart from anything, there was blood all over the nice, clean, white shirt Michael was wearing; his own blood. "Oh, but you can," Julia replied. "Have you ever heard that legend about dreams where you're falling? Normally, you fall, but you never hit the ground, right? Supposedly, if you land, you die in your sleep." "I know that," Kelly supplied. "Right," Julia nodded. "For most people, there's no real chance of death in their dreams. If they are about to die, they wake up. We're different, especially when we enter another person's dreamscape. If we die here, our minds die, and our bodies are left as lifeless shells."

There was something in his expression—something almost vulnerable beneath the usual control. For a moment, I wondered if he was talking about himself. "What about you?" I asked. "Do you read?" "Not fiction. Too much make-believe." "That's the whole point of fiction." "Maybe. I prefer reality. Even when it's ugly." "Reality is overrated." "So is fiction. At least reality doesn't lie to you." I wanted to argue, but something in his tone suggested this wasn't a casual observation. We talked for over an hour. About books and work and nothing important. About Phoenix and Seattle and the difference between rain and desert heat.

But other than that, you can't tell anything is wrong with her. Fairies are connected to nature just like nymphs and sprites. We all share a special sort of bond to help the earth grow. It's our job as nature nurturers to keep her safe and healthy. So when something comes along and tries to destroy it, she cries out to us for help. Some of us are gifted with a special healing ability that works on nature, but unfortunately it doesn't work on people, or I could heal myself.

Vampire folklore.” His eyes swept across the room. “Stories of beings that walk among us, hiding their true nature behind familiar faces.” “But those are just stories,” said Marcus Webb from the back row. “Made-up stuff to scare people.” “Are they? Consider this: what if these stories persisted throughout history not because they’re fiction, but because they contain elements of truth? What if the line between fantasy and reality isn’t as clear as we assume?”
