**The Greatest Love** The early morning light was just beginning to filter through the curtains, painting the room in soft shades of pink and gold. The air was quiet and still, but there was an electric current of anticipation running through it—a feeling of something momentous about to happen. Claire woke with a start, a sharp twinge of pain running through her abdomen. She gasped softly, clutching the bed sheets as she tried to catch her breath.
