Sweat streamed from his scalp, pooling in the folds of his neck, staining what Easy knew to be his only good shirt. Easy turned away from Freddie, focusing all his attention on his empty scotch. “Why you set yo’ sights so high, my man?” Fat Freddie continued. He never could take a hint. “There’s plenty o’ girls willing for not a lot o’ coin. You can get seconds. Or fifths.” Easy Street shook his head. “Not my scene, man. You dig?” “I’ve got some top-dog giggle-smokes, man. C’mon outside for a minute,” replied Freddie.

Freddy’s lips pulled downward into a frown, and he stopped wiping the counter. Fuck, Kim thought to herself. The last thing she needed was to get someone else involved in her pity party. What was the matter with her? With a look of confusion, Freddy watched Kim as he answered, “I would say that Brand looks at Mandy like Nate looks at you. Kim, why are you here at six on a Friday night? As much as I love talking to you,” he added quickly to assure her, “you haven’t closed out on a weeknight since before you were married.”

He was short of men so he couldn't afford to loose two more. He didn't let them go scot free though, they paid for it. Freddie sighed and lit the fourth cigarette. He took a drag and puffed out thick smoke. Then he left the place he was standing and walked through different hallways until he got to the cell. He opened it and looked at his two men. They both had bloodied faces with swollen lips and cheek. “boss” one of them managed to mumble “you're hungry? Come eat chicken with me. I'll have chef Raph make some chicken soup” Freddie said and grinned at them. They looked at each other, scared he was just teasing them and was going to beat them up again.
