Sage’s POV “The salad is ready!” Kehlani yells out for everyone to gather for dinner. I stand next to her, placing the flowers I picked with Corbin a day ago. The red petals cut through the lush green of the salad and looks pretty in contrast with the almonds and feta cheese that’s also in it.

“Take one.” “Oh, I couldn’t—” “Please. For your trouble.” Damon holds the flower out a little further. I can’t help myself. I take the flower, feeling how our fingers brush as he hands it to me. The sensation sends a jolt through me, and for a moment, I’m transported back—back in time, back to my wedding day.
