He told me one about a duck in a library that made no sense and made perfect sense because he laughed so hard at the end that he forgot the last word and had to start again. Emma rolled her eyes and said she had a better one, and then her punchline was the same as Eli’s by accident and they both laughed until Stella smiled, and I had to look down for a second because the feeling in my chest was too much.
