“Why did you not laugh?” Fay slowly got to her feet and cast a patronizing glance at Mina. "How do you feel about that? Is your joke truly funny? Check to see who is still laughing among those in attendance. Furthermore, a joke isn't considered a joke if it doesn't make the person telling it laugh,” After pausing, she went on, "It is called having a foul mouth." Everyone's odd eyes shifted to Mina as Fay said these words. Mina’s cheeks abruptly turned scarlet, and her eyes were full of hate as she gave Fay a scathing glance.

"You have no idea–I was just joking around, but those disgusting guys went crazy asking me for your contact." The old me would have already been crying, asking her how she could do this to me, voice breaking. Not this me. My teeth clenched so hard they hurt. My whole body trembled with anger. I snatched the flyer out of her hand and slapped her across the face. Tara screamed, clutching her cheek in disbelief. "You hit me? I treat you like my best friend, and you can't even take a joke anymore?" Best friend? I let out a cold laugh.

she wailed uncontrollably, frantically clawing at Vanessa's clothes. Everyone in the room was stunned. "What are you doing?" Vanessa screamed as she struggled. "Let go, you insane woman! Investments always come with risk! How is it my fault if you lost money?" "Investments?" I scoffed coldly. I pulled out a thick stack of bank statements from my bag and slammed them onto the dining table. "You call these 'investments', Vanessa?" I glanced at the male colleagues who had been cracking vulgar jokes at the table earlier and said loudly, "Over the past six months, Vanessa has used Mr. Studdard's name to set up three investment group chats and scammed nearly six million dollars from everyone.

He told Raul to take over and asked me to sit in the passenger seat to keep him company so he wouldn't fall asleep. I knew the drill, so I climbed up front and struck up a casual conversation. Soon, Dylan's snores began to echo from the back. We talked in low voices for a while, but then, to my surprise, Raul pulled the truck off the highway and brought it to a stop. I looked at him, confused. "Are you…going to sleep too?" He nodded with a smirk. "Yeah. Do you want to join me?" These guys really didn't know when to stop with the jokes. I glared at him. "If you're tired, go lie down."

I replied and she smiled again. "No one would ever believe us or our story. That you married me forcefully. We look more romantic than the couples who have done love marriages." She said and giggled. I chuckled hearing her. She was right. No one would ever believe us. Not our future kids and grandkids. No one would believe our Stupid Love Story.

“Let me guess. The time I fell out of a tree trying to rescue a cat?” “And get stuck yourself,” he finished, his grin widening. “Yep, that one made the highlight.” “Unbelievable,” I muttered. “Anything else?” “Oh, plenty,” he said, his eyes twinkling with mischief. “Like the time you tried to ride a bike down a flight of stairs because, and I quote, ‘It’ll totally work.” I groaned louder, hiding my face in my hands. “Why does he share the most humiliating stories?” “Because they’re funny,” he said, his tone light but teasing. “And, if I’m being honest, kind of impressive. I mean, you survived riding a bike down stairs. That’s bold.”

Vera deadpanned, then smiled when he laughed, really laughed, the kind that lit up his whole face and crinkled the corners of his eyes. She liked that sound more than she cared to admit. They fell into an easy rhythm after that. Nothing serious, nothing heavy, just snippets of stories, childhood mischiefs, and mutual teasing that felt like balm after everything that had happened. He told her about sneaking out of his boarding school with his friend and getting caught three blocks away because his friend had a weak bladder and needed to pee every twenty minutes. She countered with the time she’d raced an undercover cop in a stolen motorcycle and only escaped because he’d pulled over to answer

“I might not have read your script, but with the way you spoke about it, I'm pretty sure it's brilliant and it'll do brilliantly well.” My gaze lifted to see him stunned with his eyes wide opened like I had told a ghost story. He blinked, then smiled. “That's actually quite encouraging. Thanks. I guess you're not that weird after all.” I scoffed. “I guess you're not that tough after all.” Several minutes later, we were still seated, having a great conversation. He narrated a story where he almost got beaten to death after pretending to have a gun so he could scare away some robbers. Somehow, he found a way to make the story hilarious, my amusement making my stomach hurt as I laughed heartily

Not even a little bit? I moved back away from him and when I said nothing,he came around to stand beside me again,he held my hand and we continued walking. “I’ve been browsing through a number of jokes this couple of days.I think I’ve become a very funny man.” I suppressed my lips in a tight line.”You don’t say.” “How do you open a banana?”He asked. “You peel it open.”I shrugged. “No.With a mon-key.” I grimaced and when he saw I didn’t get the joke,he rattled out.

"In the meantime, we can still have some fun. How about a couple of stories? Well, we have plenty of funny and interesting stories from our time here." I gave them an appreciative smile and looked up at them. "How about you guys tell me a story? That might keep my mind off stuff." Aurelia smiled and began recounting an incident from the past. "Well, there was this one time that one of the visiting pack leaders got his foot stuck in a bucket. He was trying to act all serious and dignified, but he was hopping around like a rabbit. It was so hard not to laugh!" I chuckled, my mind conjuring up the scene. "That does sound funny."
