My Drop-Dead, Gorgeous Rebound
FAE
I saw from where I floated in the gentle waves how Jigo left hurriedly when a moment before, he was having what seemed to be an intense talk with Carl. Carl was left behind on the beach, and I presumed he didn’t leave with him because someone had to be with me. Jigo left Carl to take care of me, as if I was a child who needed tending. I didn’t know what to make of this. On the other hand, if I was correct, it meant Jigo and Carl were starting to patch their friendship to the way it used to be. That trumped the bewilderment I felt about getting left behind. Then I thought, only something important would make Jigo rush away like that. Worriedly, I stopped floating and swam back to shore.
