Gums Randomly Bleeding Without Brushing Novels & Stories

When I woke up early the next morning, no one was beside my bed. Mom had already gone to make breakfast. For some reason, my stomach hurt badly this morning. I forced myself out of bed and went to wash up. While I was brushing my teeth, I kept gagging and retching. In the end, I threw up a mouthful of blood. I turned the tap on and rinsed it all away as I had done so often, and then I continued to brush my teeth.

“I’ve been assaulted. My lips have been… contaminated. I need bleach.“ I brushed harder. My gums protested. I didn’t care. That lunatic literally just kissed me… almost tonguing her tongue down my throat. I rinsed. Spat. Rinsed again. Then went for round two, because clearly, bacteria from psycho-woman kisses required double treatment. Still not satisfied, I grabbed the mouthwash. Gargled so violently I almost choked. Spat. Looked at myself again. My lips were still red, a little swollen. Like proof. Evidence of the crime.

School. He turned and headed to the bathroom. He picked up his toothbrush from the cup on the sink, then froze. Wait…I kissed sir Jacob without brushing my teeth. He quickly brought his palm to his mouth, breathed into it, then cautiously sniffed. “Thank goodness,” he muttered under his breath. “It doesn't smell bad.” He paused. “But still… I wish I had brushed my teeth first.” He sighed. There's nothing he can do about it now. William set the toothbrush down and looked at his reflection in the mirror. Without thinking his fingers drifted to his lips.

I could almost hear the mirror whispering, beckoning me to unravel my thoughts and unburden my heart. As I reached for my toothbrush, the bristles gliding through the frothy toothpaste, I could feel a longing for a sense of normalcy. The mundane routine of brushing my teeth provided a temporary distraction, a brief respite from the tumultuous emotions coursing through my veins. The rhythmic motion of the brush against my teeth mirrored the cadence of my racing heartbeat, a constant reminder that life continued even in the midst of my personal tempest.

My hand shook like I was seizing, and I pressed the tube harder, praying the pressure might steady the limb. ​It didn't. ​The bright red bled past the corner of my mouth, jagged and ugly against my pale skin. "Fuck," I muttered under my breath scrubbing it with the edge of a napkin that already looked like I'd mopped up a crime scene with it.

My own pulse slowing as I count without meaning to. When I brush my teeth, I do it by the narrow window. Wind hits the cabin walls in short bursts, testing for weaknesses it will not find. The sound anchors me. A steady reminder that pressure exists without intent. I rinse, spit, wipe my mouth on the back of my hand, and look at my reflection only long enough to confirm that I am here. Awake. Present. Unhidden. Outside, the air smells different.

I can’t stop, nor can I quiet myself. As my body tightens up, my gums start to itch. I know what this is, but I don’t know if I should let it happen. I try to talk to Clover, but she’s not responding, and my attempts are weak at best. I can’t fully concentrate on talking with her because this feels so good.

His eyes flipped open and his head jerked up like he was bitten by something. “Fine! I’ll take them. But can I at least brush my teeth though?” he slurred. “Hmmm,” I shrugged. He sprang up like someone who hasn’t been puking his guts a while back, then sluggishly walked over to the sink and began swishing and swooshing his teeth haphazardly. He wasn’t even aiming for his teeth right. I went over to where he was leaning on the sink and took the brush from him. He creased his brows in confusion, but as he realized my intention, he slowly widened his mouth to give me access.

I sniffled and took in a deep breath once I reached my hotel. I stormed right into my bedroom and went straight into my bathroom. I looked at my face and washed my mouth with water. I rubbed my lips knowing that they were still swollen; I then brushed my teeth so many times not caring if my gums bled. I needed to remove his touch, I needed to remove everything. I looked at my wrist that he held.

"Don't do this. I don't want you to get lean or separate yourself from the rest of the house. Nobody will dare bully you in my presence, I promise you." He hugged me again, our bodies embracing in a tender hug, and his steady heartbeat against my ear. He leaned in for a kiss, but I pulled away. "I need to brush my teeth. Morning breath." His mouth curved into an unconscious smile. "Since when did I mind kissing you without brushing?" Despite the lighthearted mood, I couldn't bring myself to smile. I made my way to the bathroom, squeezing a dollop of minty toothpaste onto my brush.
